http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ce-opponent-tomorrow-who-will-the-cobra-fight Numerous other sites reporting on this. The above article does offer some interesting reasons for making this fight, namely: Poulard is Jean Pascal's older brother Poulard fights out of Montreal keeping the Pascal/Bute crowd interested Thoughts?
Sounds plausible and with Froch's resume I have no real gripe against him taking what on paper seems a very easy fight. It makes sense they want him to look a monster before the Bute fight it will whip the Canadians up into a frenzy etc and make the rematch easier to sell and quicker to sell. Not the fight I wanted but hey we all like an easier day at work from time to time, I know I have said it before work some days, "should be a doddle today" why not allow that for a boxer, works for me, after all we know what his next fight is, Bute in Canada.
waste of time, and why fight Bute again when you Kod his ass already? Fight any of the two Andres or fight Kessler
Apparently they aint announcing the opponent today, just dates and ticket stuff. Opponent named on 28th
Because of a contract perhaps? Froch would never have got the fight in the UK in the first place without the rematch option. It's right that Froch keep that deal.
the only reason they wouldnt announce the opponent is if they dont have one yet I sense they are having real problems getting anyone half decent. but then again, Froch in Nottingham is a ****ing miserable assignment
It was rumored that he might be a possibility to fight Carl Froch, the IBF super middleweight champ. I asked Poulard's promoter, Eye of the Tiger, about Poulard-Froch. "We will refuse the Carl Froch offer because it is impossible for Nicholson to make 168 pounds," a spokesman said. "We will continue the negociations with Shumenov for a WBA title shot at 175 pounds." http://www.thesweetscience.com/news/articles/15115-poulard-stops-sjomkin-on-boxing-channel-card
So far that's Kessler, Oosthuaven and Poulard that all wanted none of it..... It's going to be hard ****ing work, who's left? Pavlik? He won't get on a plane I can tell you that
Worst fight of the year if so. Karpency level. Dreadful. The whole 'Froch deserves an easy fight' not if he's had six months off. Well, not an opponent of this level. He could've beaten him a week after Bute. Modern boxing is wank.
I thought it would have been Bika but the postponement of naming the opponent does make it look like Hearn is struggling.
He already offered Kessler out, failing that he offered young, unbeaten belt holder Oousthauven a shot, it's not like they didnt TRY to get a good opponent in
