    No. They cut his wraps off in ring. Dempsey did not need that to beat Willard senseless.

    Dempsey seems to take a bigger beating on these boards than he ever did in real life...when will the negativity toward him end? It seems to be open season on Jack Dempsey on ESB lately...

    No. That one's pretty much been put to bed.

    There is a story that Dempsey clutched a bolt with "a big head on it" and clobbered him with it. This is as told to Harry Carpenter by Jess Willard. Almost certainly bull**** and the doctored hands thing definitely bull****.

    I do think Dempsey's power is overrated.

    I mean imagine if Tyson was allowed to stand over an opponent and wollop them flush and defenceless as they rose? he'd probably kill very opponent he faced.

    By overrated I mean it's not on the level of say Louis, Lewis, Wlad, Tyson, Foreman, rocky etc.

    I compare Jack's power with Frazier's.

    No...this has been proven wrong...this was done as an experiment by some fighter...and the plaster crumbled into pieces after the first punch in training...
