Vernon Forrest had some swag boxing boots on that night, and I'm surprised Forrest didn't go berserk with that stoppage. He was just like "....Huh?"

I dont see Mayorga benefitting from a strong chin as he gets knocked out more often than he goes the distance. If anything his style and willingness to take shots fails him every time.

Again, what had Margarito ever done to warrant a shot @ the 147lb title? Losing to guys like Daniel Santos isn't the type of thing that would make someone like Ricardo Mayorga afraid of you.

Misconception regarding his willingness to take shots, watch the Forrest fights watch the Lewis fight, Mayorga rolls with the majority of those shots, he also picks off allot of those shots as well, looks like he is getting the **** beaten out of him but he does roll with them shots and come back with his own.....

    Lol.

He stood right in front of Tito Trinidad @ 160 for 8 rounds and Shane Mosley @ 154 for 12. Pacquaio isn't punching harder than either of those guys plus Ricardo has legitimate one punch KO power @ 147lbs [something Pacquiao lacks].

If Pacquiao chose to stand in the middle of the ring and trade punches with Ricardo Mayorga, it would be a short night. Pacquiao isn't KOing guys @ 147 and Mayorga had an iron chin.

The Richardo Mayorga who beat Vernon Forrest *twice* would probably be too much for Pacquiao @ 147lbs.

    Now that I think about it, Mayorga's resume @ 147lbs > Pacquiao's resume @ 147lbs...

Look at the way he lost both of those fights, on cuts and the rematch he clearly turned the fight over in his favor most had him winning but they were fighting where again?

Mayorga wouldnt be scared to fight him he is bat **** crazy but King didnt want to take that risk and seeing How Mayorga does not take it well to the body, Margarito would have beat him down to the body and stopped him the key for Tony would be the early rounds getting through the first 4 rounds from there on its his fight

Not trying to argue here but that quote is total BS. Mayorga fought Vernon, Lewis and Cory spinks at 147. He beat Vernon and Lewis twice but lost to Cory.

Pacqiau fought and beat Marquez, Mosley, Margarito, Hatton, Clottey, DLH and Cotto at 147 and you are saying that Mayorgas resume at 147 is better? How?

Mayorga has those two W's over a PRIME undefeated Vernon Forrest - with one of those W's coming via KO2. That speaks VOLUMES.

And the Spinks loss was a daylight robbery.

The two best scalps on Pacquiao's resume @ 147 is a dried out ODLH - who hadn't made the weight in 7 years and needed an *IV* immediately before the fight - and a weight drained Cotto who had just been bludgeoned by the loaded gloves of Antonio Margarito.

    I'll take Mayorga for $500.

    Mayorga > Pacquiao @ 147lbs...

Mayorga always brought it. A class A entertainer, just not quite an A level fighter. This was a huge win for him.

Forrest was one of my favorites. In and out of the ring he was great. More than just boxing lost a champion when he was murdered.

You seem to be implying that Mayorga [or his promoter] ducked Margarito @ 147lbs. Only thing I'm saying here is Mayorga had bigger fish to fry and there was no warrant or mandate at that time for Margarito to get a shot @ the 147lb title. I mean, honestly, who was Antonio Margarito other than some face first brawler who lost to Daniel Santos?

So Mosley, Margarito and Marquez are less important in your book compared to a Prime VF whos biggest accomplishment was to beat Raul Frank and Vince Phillips before Mosley

In my opinion Pacs resume is far greater than Mayorgas at 147
