Jones stops him. Maybe every 1 in 10 Benn knocks Jones out but Jones should rightly be a massive favourite to win by ko.
Benn would definitely be dangerous but I see Jones stopping him around the 7th-8th round. Jones in his prime was too elusive and would punish Benn whenever he missed with one of his vicious power shots.
Jones should win but it depends "which" Benn turns up. The Benn of the Watson fight probably gets picked off, demoralised and stopped...on the other hand, the determined, refuse-to-lose, crazy Benn could be a nightmare for Jones, huge bombs flying in at all angles at Jones...those shots could be very difficult to avoid. There was a brief time when I thought that Benn was the worst opponent for Jones because of the above...you nnever, never know with ua guy with the power and attitude of Benn...if the fight had taken place we may have found out about Jones' vulnerable chin much earlier than we actually did...
hard fight for jones but i see him winning comfortably. probably be like mayweather v cotto but if benn connects jones could have some problems
Benn would get beat up. If the going got too dangerous for Jones, he would simply coast to a decision win. Benn was just never going to knock out someone like Roy Jones with those loaded up punches that he used to throw.
Roy Jones junior in his prime was pretty much untouchable, we can talk about who he avoided etc but if roy fought anybody at that time he would have won - really was on a different level than the rest. Best talent i ve seen in my life-time. Even if roy had been drugged to his eyeballs with steroids every single fight - was still an unbeilevable talent, steroids don't give you the talent that roy had - reckon a lot of them back then were on them anyways!!!
Roy Jones Jr vs Nigel Benn: I personally believe it would have been 1995's fight of the year, not taking anything away from the fight that was basically that years best fight Bowe-Holyfield 3. If Roy Jones Jr, fresh off of his November, 1994 superfight/12-round decision victory over the undefeated and slightly favored James "Lights Out" Toney, and Nigel "The Dark Destroyer" Benn, fresh off of his highly dramatic and near fatal 10th round knockout win over the now recluse and legally blind Gerald McCullen in March, 1995, had got down and battled in what would've been ahighly anticipated IBF/WBC SuperMiddleweight Unification match right after those two fights the winner of that particular fight would've been declared the Ring Magazines first ever champion at 168lbs. Roy Jones Jr being undefeated at the time with no wear-n-tear on his body would've had an edge on Nigel Benn in almost every category from hand speed, better foot work, lateral movement, and of course ring generalship. But even with those intangibles Benn would've still given Roy more than a competitive fight given that at the time this highly proposed but never to be superfight was in the thought/planning stages Benn actually had a slight edge over Roy as far as quality of oppostion was concerned having fought Iran "The Blade" Barkley, Michael Watson, McCullen & Eugene Banks(twice), where Roy's best in the quality of opposition category was his decision wins over the unbeaten Toney & Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins(first fight). Roy Jones Jr. vs Nigel "The Dark Destroyer" Benn, mid-late 1995: End result; Jones by 11round tko.
