    Aha.....! But Joe Frazier gets let off from having soft defences,does n't he ? :D Ali's the only one who's permitted to get stick for this practice,obviously.

    And yet he absolutely pissed on Frazier in terms of his reign as undisputed champion. Go figure.

    Imagine someone becoming undisputed champ by beating the former champion that's coming out of a 3,5 half years retirement in a brutal fight, then defending to two cans during two years before becoming absolutely obliterated by his first live challenger.

    Now that's a poor reign. Especially if the former champion in question only made his name by winning fixed fights, beating injured fighters and cans like Brian London.;)

    Now, Joe was only a 22 year-old, '11-bout' professional.

    This. I'm a massive Ali fan. I take what I need from these threads, Pepe's disdain for Ali doesn't bother, he's a sound poster and works hard to provide a lot of info'.

    Don't see the people chiming in to all the Ali threads having a problem with any of his threads on more obscure fighters. Which are invaluable.

    Anyway, have enjoyed the debates over these threads last couple of days, thanks to all concerned.

    Well, at that time he went life and death with Bonavena who reportedly (by a poster here a couple of years ago) had been up doing coke the whole night before, so who knows.;)

    What I do know is that London, terrible as he was, probably was a more deserving challenger than either Daniels or Stander.
