Comparable to Pacquiao vs. Clottey, although I did find it more entertaining because Mayweather "displayed the skills against a guy who was giving it his all."

Basically, because A) it was PPV and B) he was consensus P4P #1, expectations are always high.

Even the most hardcore FMJ fans can defend FMJ vs Baldomir only by mentioning how FMJ was paid $8 million for an easy fight. My problem with the fight is that is was so ****ing boring. FMJ could have won just as easily being "aggressive Floyd".

Nothing to do with it being easy really, Baldomir was the welterweight champion.

Judah was the undisputed welterweight champion, Mayweather and Judah scheduled a fight for all the belts. Each man had a stay-busy fight in the meantime. Floyd vs Mitchell, Judah vs Baldomir.

Judah went and lost to Baldomir while Floyd beat Mitchell.

After Floyd beat Judah, he faced the man who beat him to become the welterweight champion, Carlos Baldomir. (who hadn't lost a fight in 8 years, and had beat Judah and Gatti back-to-back)

Can you imagine what would be said if Floyd didn't fight Baldomir?

'He avoided the man that was the champ at the time and who had beaten Judah BEFORE him and stopped Gatti, Baldomir was undefeated in nearly a decade and his relentless pressure and body-punching would have stopped Floyd and he knew it'

One of the most boring fights in WW history.

Even Tiger Woods a golfer left midway through.

Floyd spent the last half of the fight running from an overmatched journeyman.

And then cried on the press conference cause the media was being too hard on him.

    The poor baby.

The only reason Floyd fought Baldamir is because Baldamir Beat Judah. Judah and Floyd were supposed to have a unification bout, but Baldamir took Judah's title... So Floyd had to get it back.

You obviously weren't watching boxing back then.

dude, google has been a powerful tool for the past years :patsch

Before Judah fought Floyd, he got beat by Baldomir and got KO'd by Tsuyu in the 2nd round.

So to *****s, Judah is a "leftover" :rofl

Way to go in defending the best boxer in the world :hi:

Because some people despite denying it only like fights where there is a kayo. When someone puts on a boxing masterclass they choose to deny it takes skill.

Not necessarily true !! , i like watching boxing , not just pure " edge of the seat " style fighting , but actually boxing , the type of ........ " boxing " that i dont like to watch is one sided schoolings , if this happens in a fight that on paper should of been competitive (Hopkins Tito , Winky Tito , Hopkins Pavlik) then yes , i normally stand in awe and take my hat off , but if these matches are made from the off and you already know that " hey this Baldomir is pretty basic , Floyds probably gonna school his ass " and thats what happens (Mayweather Marquez , Gatti Mayweather , Baldomir Mayweather) it tends to be pretty shitty to watch :deal

No, before he fought Floyd, Judah won all of the WW titles, WBO, WBC, IBF and The Ring titles when he knocked out Cory Spinks. He then knocked out Cosme Rivera in 3 before arranging a fight with Floyd. Judah then lost a tuneup fight with Baldomir who Floyd later beat to win all the belts and become undisputed lineal welter-weight champion, a title he holds to this day.

Mayweather hurt his hand and was in line for what would be the biggest fight in boxing history (ODLH).

Yet people are mad he didn't go all 'hero' in the Baldomir fight?

    Hilarious.

Baldomir's actual "ability" is on display in his fights, and his crappy loss/ low KO record speaks for itself (43-9-6 what? 13 kos)- he is NOT the kind of fighter that anyone would accuse floyd of ducking after the fact, because anyone with two working eyes knows that he is extremely average and Judah was a)inconsistent and fragile, and b) looking past him.

Everybody knows Baldomir is mediocre, and the Judah win a miracle. Now everyone believes Floyd will beat Pac - but the most ineffective champion he ever fought is Baldomir, and no one but a moron would accuse Floyd of passing up a fight with him out of anxiety. Terrible lineal/multiple belt champ. Ugh. Baldomir can't stop the nobodies that he fought but he is going to stop the best defensive fighter of our times with no punching power?

people who bash dont kno wut there talking about. the ones that defend it no it was a good and worthy opponent for floyd.

now if u bash it for the fight being boring then thats a differ story. the fight was deffinently not as bad as sum make it out to be. and floyd messed his hand up i hear so thats why he was more saftey first then he usually is.

but very worthy opponent. judah lost to baldo but already agreed to fight judah so he took care of him reel quick and gave the reel deserving man the fight.

really he shoulda fought baldo right after baldo beat judah but the fight was already a done deal i guess so he had to go through with it

Because Blado is such a mediocre fighter. Forrest gave Baldo a much more convincing beating than Floyd did and nobody talks about that fight.
