Hmm, what elite skills would you say he possesses?

I think he has poor defence, one dimensional offence, no inside game. His footwork in terms of balance is good but his actual footspeed is very slow, he doesn't seem to posses any great ability to adjust or counter-punch.

Despite his low left hand he doesn't seem to have any great craft or speed with which to avoid or dish out punches, he does however have heavy hands, a good jab and a decent selection of punches, conbined with an incredibly good chin and champions mentality.

I definitely wouldn't say he has elite level skills, but his overall package (no homo) makes him elite.

In the SMW division the only people I would say have elite skills would be Andre Ward, Andre Dirrel. Even though I suppose differentiating between elite fighters and elite skills may be splitting hairs I think it's worth considering.

Chagaev, Ibragimov, even Briggs were good boxers. They had skill and decent to very good amateur careers.

I think Rahman is a good example for an average fighter. His skill set wasn't very broad, he never accomplished much other than one lucky punch.

In my opinion Chagaev was average, Ibragimov also.

Amateur success/skill does not always translate to professional skill/success. The above are prime examples.

Pac is definitely sloppy/wild at times and is a bit limited but he's certainly not average, his use of angles and dynamic punching is brilliant, he is also a pretty decent counter-puncher.

He won the WBF "title" against Shea Neary. The film likes to pretend it was a genuine title.

Check out the first ten years of the WBO and you'll find so many "bought" champions.Several big names but Boone Pultz anyone?Nestor Giavaninni?
