I love the mab - sanchez fight aswell. It has one of
    My fav knockdowns

But in terms of my all time fav fight for barrera. It has to be MAB - Jesus Salud

It was one or 2 fights before naseem and my god barrera looked like the perfect fighter. Props to naseem for still going ahead with the fight after seeing this performance

Amazing sharp crisp 4 punch combos to the head and body. Stalking his opponent lOoking soooop focused and composed

    Hagler vs Mugabe

Slightly diminished Marvelous boxes as a southpaw (he's a slugger right? never gets credit for being highly skilled), moving awayfrom 26-0-26 for several rounds and then flat runs over the Beast **** on **** at the appropriate moment. Get shivers up my spine every time I think about it. What discipline. What will.

    Truly a masterclass.

I was only a kid at the time but ive seen Hagler v Minter since, that was some performance in the lions den by Hagler, looks a beast. I suppose that is one of his more celebrated wins though so totally unsuited to this thread, sorry.

I'm going on a Vasquez trip this week SB.I've watched the Rafa series subsequently but we didn't get it in the UK but at the very least I'm watching the first two Larios fights.
I'm also getting onto early Rafa after an earlier suggestion. You think you've seen just about all the fights you want when the truth is you haven't seen anything. There are so many mentioned here that I haven't seen but want to now.

I remember that as a pup as well mate, and felt pretty ashamed later that Marvin's big, long overdue moment was ruined over here.
Was pretty glad when he came over to do some commentary for the BBC and seemed to have moved on,but he waited a long time to be crowned, then had to be escorted out.Shame.:-(

Its not really `uncelebrated` tho, it was one of Morales biggest wins, especially since Jones beat Barrera twice before & more pressure was on Erik not to be beaten as well.

I`ve seen it loads of times, thats his best ever knock out IMO.

I`ve seen every fight of Morales career since Zaragoza (except for the Lorenzo & Garcia fights) I own most of them on video or dvd as well :thumbsup

    :good

Morales had underrated feints. The right hand feint to the body and bringing it upstairs for the KO was a thing of beauty against Chacon.

Great thread man. Sal Sanchez is among the greatest, but liked to box as much as he did brawl or go toe to toe sometimes he liked to go the distance and coast over fighters he could of ko'd earlier as thr case against Cowdell. He'd get criticized for being an elite fighter fighting down to the level of some opponents who were very good. When he didn't ko his opponents there were some interesting fights like vs Ford, Castillo, and especially the one I like in particular is the one vs LaPorte. LaPorte was as tough as they came and faced the immortals of his time like Sanchez, Chavez, Pedroza, McGuigan, among others. Its a quality fight in which you know LaPorte would be a future champion and in his prime hold his own in any era @ 126.
