It's crazy, he seems to have a completely warped sense of confidence, thinking it's still 2006 or something.

Does he not realize that a) Malignaggi has improved a lot since last they met, b) is no longer in the quagmire of a horrid professional relationship with Buddy McGirt that ruined his style and contributed greatly to the ease with which Hatton dominated him, and c) even if a & b weren't true, Ricky himself is in no position to be lacing up against and should leave his pug days in the rearview mirror, and shouldn't even be daring to call out the likes of Lazcano (who was shot before him) for a rematch... let alone a guy who's really hit his stride and come miles.

"Oh, well I beat him well enough last time..."

Yes, last time, a long time ago - and circumstances have changed dramatically for both of you since then.

Im not so sure Paulie's improved that much, it's only 2 years since Khan battered him. He should have more than enough for Hatton though. I find this news slightly depressing :-(

Because it would be ****ing leng t'che. Guerrero would go to town on him with a technical surgical attack and easily thwart whatever clinching or body-whacking he can yet muster.

    Wretched idea.

Good stuff. Good decision. He still has a lot to offer boxing. There haven't been many bonecrunching ko's lately.

I think it would be a better fight than you think. People need to remember the only two guys that have beat hatton are floyd and pac, the two best fighters of this generation.

    Hatton is extremely disrespected imo.

He pretty much schooled Paulie back then. And while he has improved a lot since then, I feel peak Hatton beats ANY version of Paulie.

Having said that, he should stay well clear of a comeback

    :patsch

Yes, and did they kinda sorta beat him, by the skin of their teeth? :think Or did they OWN him in positively BRUTAL nightmarish fashion?

Yes, and when did Pacquiao beat him? :think Early two thousand ****ing nine. Fast forward to late two thousand twelve. You think he'll pick up where he left off and be the same old Wicky???

Also, Collazo beat him and is most certainly not one of the best of his generation. That was at welterweight, you'll recall - where Guerrero currently has shop set up.

Damn. After 4 and a half years? Hatton was a favorite of mine and I hope this turns out really well, but I doubt he's going to walk away draped in title belts or anything.

I kept thinking the Pacquiao fight took place in May 2008 for some reason. Thanks.
