Boxers train to punch their opponent, and professional boxers do so with the intent of producing some sort of effect. Sometimes that effect is as simple as disrupting an opponent's rhythm andn stopping them in their tracks, and sometimes that intent is to cause damage to their opponent that will prevent them from being capable of fighting at all. Lewis threw that right hand in the third with bad intentions, and it most certainly was designed to produce some sort of effect. And it produced a desired result not due to luck, but rather because Lewis was a trained professional who spent years training his body to be able to threw right hands that could connect and cause significant damage to large, similarly well trained opponents.

TKO6 didn't happen because Lewis was lucky...

TKO6 happened because Lewis was good.

Here a real winner for you.
The guy who beat the guy who knocked out Monaco more than 3 times faster than Vitali could.

Swollen eye, 52 years old and still wins.

Vitali is cool to watch though, he is an unique shw, and we probably never see a guy like him again once he retired.
    But he didn't win.

You can clearly see Lewis driving his thumb into Vitali's eye. Thumb of the glove is clearly visible in the first frame and then it is pushed into eye socket. Robberies do happen in boxing and this is not the worst one. Had there been an instant replay in boxing the outcome would have been different. I cannot blame the ref as he was standing on the side of the punch and could not see anything. Frame by frame analysis clearly shows that the outcome should have been TD6.

The rematch was in order but Lewis forfeited his title. The justice sort of prevailed as Vitali became the champ. It would have been nice to see him demolish Lewis in the rematch but I guess Lewis knew better than that and said "no mas"

    No, YOU can.

You've conjured this image and burned it so indelibly into your mind's eye that you can superimpose it on the actual visual stimuli being fed to your brain seamlessly.

You are IMPRESSIVELY disconnected from reality.

They're still butthurt over a fight that happened 10 years ago. Think about that for a second. Every day for 10 years, they get up and get upset about this fight between two guys who don't know them from a hole in the wall. They probably have dreams about Vitali winning by TD6 and then wake u and realize its still......

Bremen's complete inability to acknowledge the fact that Lennox's knuckles are pressed right up against the side VK's face in the first frame of that gif is indeed impressive. It either indicates a level of self-hypnosis that many yogis in Hindu sects could only hope to attain in their lives...Or an almost supernatural level of stupidity that is almost breathtaking to behold.

Pretty amazing to witness either way.

No, you are. The entire boxing community was clamoring about the rematch because the outcome of the fight did not fairly represent what happened in the fight. Even Lewis said he wanted the rematch before cool heads talked him out of it for crying out loud.

That's a legal punch. End of story. Stop being a ***** about it. It's sad so many people actually think the stoppage was bad / the punch was illegal aka a thumb. WHAT THE **** EVER.

And not only one punch! Vitali had several cuts.

    Lewis won TKO 6.
