thats not the argument, both of those blokes are eligible to play for NSW & Australia & have

Lam was the only bloke in history i can recall that wasnt eligible to play for Australia, or maybe he was, but he played for PNG yet played for QLD

Its akin to NSW playing Sam Burgess yet he still plays for England

NRL was paid more money 'per minute' for its tv rights than AFL was.

    just saying..

Hypothetical Question Widey - If Aussie went to war against New Zealand or Fiji who would Tamou or Uate fight for if pushed . You know the answer so dont give me this Eligible **** . New Zealand and Fiji will ALWAYS be home to the South Pacific players , sure they'll live here for the rest of their lives but will never sign up to be dinky -di .

how the **** would i know & why the **** do i care??

this has never been my argument, i only pointed out the Lam situation

then someone pointed out Brad Thorn, he only represented Australia in League, he repped NZ in Union of course

So i maintain that Adrian Lam is a unique situation, i dont care for the ins & outs, i just remember when it happened, they let him play to maintain the integrity of the series because QLD had no viable halfbacks, i mean ****, look at them now, they have about 4 or 5 of the best

Fien and Mead . Fienys born and bred in Mt Isa , I played Foley Shield with his old man back in the early 80s . Fien played SOO for Qld in 2001 and went on from there to play for New Zealand sides that defeated Austral;ia in a world cup final . Meadys a huge chance to play for Qld in the next few years .

Fien, yeah i suppose, although he's one of those weird ones, he played for Qld (one game) when young, then Australia or QLD didnt look at him for years, then we all know about that granny gate ****, i dare say he wouldnt have been able to come back to QLD if he wanted to after playing for NZ i suppose its a case by case situation

I dont think Mead should be allowed to play for QLD, having already played for PNG, i'm pretty sure the criteria is that in order to play State of Origin you have to be eligible to play for Australia, i'm not sure if Mead wants to change allegiance as far as country is concerned, with Lam it was never even discussed, it was a flat out exception to the rules in Qld's favour

Something tells me that Mead won't play for QLD. His first senior RL game was in NSW, and he doesn't want to play for them.

PNG is no.4 in the world now, if we want to be fair dinkum he shouldn't play for either state, I can see cases for letting a few Fijians, Samoans, Tongans, Americans etc play in world cups & still be eligible for SOO & Australia, but PNG has to be treated a bit more in line with the big three
