Sorry its another Froch thread just wondered if anyone had heard any rumours on who he's going to be fighting. I think its safe to say its not going to be a big name.
There was talk of Thomas Oosthuizen and then some talk of it falling through. Pavlik was talked about too but slightly less convincingly.
To be honest and its quite funny, people are kinda slating him for a proposed non big name fighter yet he's probably fought most of the big names in the division so must be running out of top names.
nothing but rumours and speculation at this stage. I can't imagine it will be a huge name though, without any major news yet
There are still plenty of names to fight. As I've sid before it is the reality of fighting outside the Super Six: opponents have other options and agendas. They were expecting to announce Nicholson Poulard on Monday. He turned the fight down so they are trying to find someone else.
What huge names are there that he hasnt yet fought? I think he's fought the Top 10 barring Pavlik maybe. Stieglitz
They don't want a huge name. They want an easy defence to keep the rematch worthwhile. Kessler was never in the frame for November as he is too risky. Kessler is planned for next summer. The fact they offered Poulard the fight says it all. Maybe Eddie Hearn has changed his plans but he is clearly struggling to find the right opponent.
There's plenty of names but are there still plenty of tests, who's Poulard? Just looked on Boxrec and he's 19-3 having fought no-one and is at light heavy? never fought out of Canada...would that have been a good opponent?
I cannae say too much ,but it should leak soon .To many folk involved for someone not to let it slip ./
I'd like to see him fight the Stieglitz/Abraham winner in a unification, and Oosthuzien whatever his name is in another sort of unification, then Bute and end on DeGale. As for his next opponent, I think it'll be someone like Balzsay.
Poulard was offered the fight and turned it down. He was a poor choice. There are plenty of guys out there better than this guy. Even a Jermain Taylor rematch. I think there are tests out there for Froch. People forget the amount of close fights Froch has had. I think he is being slightly overrated because the Bute fight. It wouldn't shock me if Bute won the rematch on points. I would predict Andre Dirrell to beat Froch in remtach You will laugh, but I consider DeGale a test. And there is Bika obviously. Why not try and bring Pascal down?
I sort of think Kessler will stay at light-heavy. I know Carl's had some tough fights but it's got to be all about the pay day at this point?
