I honestly had Manny winning the first 2 Marquez fights sorry but I disagree with that.

Excuse me, but did you just take a guy whose record includes Barrera X2, Morales X2, Marquez at least once, Cotto, Hatton, Clottey, Ledwaba, Sasakul, and deserved a decision against Bradley and say he has only 1 good win?

And that's only counting some of the more notable champions he's beaten, not all the belt holders like Larios, (2 time champion at two different weight classes) Jorge Julio, (2 time bantamweight champion) or notable contenders.

    Yeah, try again there.

The second fight with Morales was still meaningful, and Morales was still a very capable fighter at that point.

Agreed that without his special wrap Margarito isn't much of a win though.

Your right about Barrera but not Morales. Morales was washed up, well past his best. Corrales, Castillo were better wins. Morales was washed up, and was coming off losses to the likes of Zahir Raheem. Morales was never that good at 130. At 118, Morales was in his prime and fantastic. The Morales, Pacquiao beat was past his best, a complete shell of himself. Remember Morales was coming off a huge loss to Raheem, a fight in which Morales only won 1 or 2 rounds.

No he wasn't. He was a shell of himself. He even almost even fainted at the Weigh in. He was Past prime and killing himself to make weight. He was nowhere near his best. Plus he just coming off a big loss to Zahir Raheem, a fight in which Raheem schooled him. Morales only Won 1 or 2 rounds. Raheem has never even been a World Champ. When your losing to the likes of Raheem I don't see how your still capable.

I don't really see how Morales was still an A fighter ?? He was well past his best and losing the likes of Zahir Raheem

Castillo was not one of the best, he was THE best in the division when Floyd fought him, and was ranked P4P for years. How could he not be an A fighter? Just because you think other ATG lightweights could beat him? Hell I could name a bunch of lightweights that could beat Mayweather but that doesn't mean he is not an A fighter.

While I agree that Morales probably didn't belong at 130 anymore, he'd been using weight cutting game to his advantage for years. His body just couldn't handle it anymore, and he hadn't realized it yet.

Also, when he met Raheem it was his first fight at 135, and he went up against a guy who had faster hands and feet, was difficult to hit, and that Morales couldn't just walk over anymore. It's not like Raheem was a complete bum either, his only career losses are against Rocky Juarez, (in a fight where Raheem dropped from 135 to 126 to make) Acelino Freitas and Ali Funeka.

In short, it was a bad style matchup and while Raheem didn't accomplish a lot in his career, you can't say that he regularly lost to bums or showed no talent either.

As for the Pacquiao fight, all you can do is watch the tape. Morales didn't fight great, but he certainly fought well, and he would have beaten a lot of guys at 130 that night.

You're right, he wasn't an A fighter on that night. But he was an A fighter in his career and it's not like he was as far removed from being an A fighter as, say, Shane Mosley was against Floyd or Oscar against Pacquiao.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I'll admit though that I'm a lot tougher than some when it comes to rating fighters, so there is that.

just look at the the past 5 years and compare. we are not talking about when pac has taken on barrera, marquez and morales (ATGs at or near their prime/ prime weight class) successively in just a span of 1 year and 4 months. floyd has never fought an ATG fighter even once near his prime.
