Like I said, 8 days notice.

He doesn't have to phone anyone.. He's not a matchmaker, he doesn't promote. They all know why the card was canceled, and who called it all off..

Hating on JJ for the cancellation is a reach, and pushing Chael Sonnen to the forefront at the last hour was desperation.

Ok Bob  you make a compelling argument...

    Now tell that to Rogan

Now the entire UFC card is scrapped because Jones didn't accept a fight with a 185lb'er who is completely out of shape. WOW. Just wow.

Just bought my tickets for UFC 152. Wasn't gonna pay just for Mighty Mouse vs Benavidez but adding Jones to the card sealed it for me.

Jones vs Henderson or Jones vs Sonnen would have been better no doubt but Machida gets the fight in Toronto. So **** em.

I still say the UFC is solely to blame for the cancellation. If they had a strong co-main, it wouldn't have mattered if Jones 'ducked' Demetious Johnson, there would still be an event on the first.

I do agree to the point Rob, and it's not all Jones fault as injuries do happen. However they came up with a replacement and it wasnt a huge stylistic change for Jones to deal with. He must have trained for the possibility that Hendo would try to take him down, and Chaels stand up and gnp pose no threat of a stoppage like Hendo's anyway I see no other reason to refuse this fight unless Im missing something, especially when the option is to cancel the card all together.

JJ is the champ, and not a promoter.. 152 will **** all over that card.

I agree with Stoo here. Really disappointed in Jones. Have begrudging respect for Chael.

I'm not convinced that Jones knew that the whole card would be scrapped if he turned down Sonnen. If it's true, that's weak, but if not, then he was just sticking by what he said earlier. He said that he wouldn't let Sonnen talk his way to a title shot, which would have been basically 100% the case had this fight happened. Sonnen has done literally nothing at 205 to deserve a top five opponent, let alone a title shot. He hasn't done anything at 205 since losing to Babalu seven years ago.

Chael stepped up, Jones stepped down.

Chaels not everyones cup of tea but when it comes to fighting he really does seem willing to fight em all, fight em heart and let the chips fall may the fall.

His trainer advised him not to fight on 8 days notice, what do you want him to do??

Do you want JJ to go against the word of his trainer for the sake of everyone else competing that night?

Maybe you don't have much experience in playing for, and or representing a team because you are definitely missing something.

Of course not, and Dana has been known to talk **** before. Still will damage his image with some fans regardless, not to mention the locker room and back room staff. Not the best PR move for someone who is perceived as being arrogant...

Beating down Sonnen once and for all would have done wonders for his popularity imo even though he was not deserving of a shot, it would have been a viable stop gap if he knew the card owuld be cancelled or otherwise

Glad we got another re-match for the belt though...
