I don't know why it's so hard to understand that Floyd is more accomplished than Chavez Sr. It's pretty obvious. JCC's resume is impressive in numbers, but doesn't have too much quality.

I agree its quality over quantity, I think people tend to overrate JCC sr and underrate PBF. FAR to many people have Sr as the best Mexican Warrior ever, which I do not think is the case

Floyd Jr. Only SRR surpasses Jr. Them two fought from small weight classes and up and remains dominant while others struggle against their rivals in their weight class.

Chavez Sr. enjoyed a lot of card stacking from TR, bias judges and home town crowds and celebrated a lot of wins feasting on mexico finest bums. Sounds harsh but is true.

Mayweather has not fought anyone worth a ****. A small ass JMM? An old and retired Oscar? Gatti? His best win is Diego and he wasn't an all time great. Floyd lost to Castillo.

JCC by 15-20 spots. Slightly stronger resume, superior dominance, superior fighter.

Chavez clearly for me. Both great fighters, but Chavez edges it on all counts: resume, achievement and ability.

Meldrick Taylor 1, Hector Camacho, Edwin Rosario, Jose Luis Ramirez are his top 4 IMO.

I'd say they're a stronger set than Mayweather's top 4 all things considered - Corrales, Castillo II, De La Hoya, Genaro Hernandez.

Chavez's record is heavily padded and VERY deceiving to the untrained eye.

Despite Chavez having nearly 3x the # of fights as Mayweather, Mayweather has a greater depth of world level opponents on his resume. Not only that, Mayweather's top wins are slightly better.

Past prime De La Hoya > prime Camacho. (It's debatable though)

Past prime 38 year old Mosley > past prime 40 year old Jose Luis Ramirez

Prime Castillo > prime Edwin Rosario

Prime Diego Corrales > Prime Meldrick Taylor

Past prime Cotto > Prime Greg Haugen

Mayweather also has Marquez, Hatton, Hernandez, Judah, Gatti which are all about on par with Chavez's top 5 wins.

After Chavez's top 5 wins, his resume gets EXTREMELY thin.

I think it's crystal clear that Mayweather has a greater resume than Chavez.

And Chavez was a great fighter n err'thang. But how anybody who is familiar with his era and/or has conducted a thorough examination of his resume, can regard him as a top 50 ATG or *GASP* top 25 ATG :patsch is just completely unfathomable to me.
