Ufc 151 officially cancelled

Which is Rogan's way of saying, "Hey, we know it'a s pointless and stupid fight, but we all want to get paid!" It's not Jon Jones job to pay those guys or put on good cards.

No, it isn't.

Jones turned down a fight. The fact that the card was weak killed it. Had there been a solid co-main, there'd be no real problems. Obviously not an ideal situation, but infinitely better than scrapping a whole card.

There have been cancelled main events before, but generally there's at least a semi-decent headline fight ready to move into the top spot.

Jones made the call to turn down a fight on ****ing 8 days notice. I'm not saying it's the right decision, but it's the one he made. He turned down a fight, that is all.

In what world did Jones make that call? Last I checked Dana and the Fertita bros. run the UFC. Last I checked there were 20 other fighters on that card, all ready to fight, and it's the promoters fault that none of them were ready to carry a PPV. Jones didn't build a weak card around one fight.

 

No, but it is his job to fight. How many fights have been cancelled over the past couple of years, and how many times have the co-headliner gone on to fight someone else on the same card?

There are a lot of guys on the undercard that were depending on this event to take place. Jones was going to get paid, so it's not like it would have been for free. But it will be ok for Jones. He'll still get his pay day next month. What about all of these poor fighters with lesser names.

Jones shouldn't be stripped of his title, forced out of the company, or suspended for a while; but he deserves every one of the "**** you, you selfish ****" thoughts going through so many people's minds at this moment.

 

damn i'm sad for my boy Hendo, He wanted this fight bad. i know father time his breathing down his neck and this can't help his cause if and when this fight gets rescheduled

 

I wonder if Dana will tell us "it is what it is." That always helps to clarify things.

This was bigger than Jones. And he ****ed up. He'll be forever black balled now and you can guarantee if he ever slips up Dana will be all over it.

 

Id be very interested to hear if they are getting paid some sort of guarantee , might explain Dana's overreaction

Sonnen would be pulling a Haye and getting a big check without earning it lol. Don't blame Jones for not wanting to fight him as he looked like garbage in his last two fights and hasn't done anything at 205 lately. Backfired on Dana and zuffa to expect this card not to crumble anyways with the absense of solid matchups. As said before, what if both Jones and Henderson were injured? Sucks we don't see this fight but I put fault on the matchmakers more than anything.
