Belfort is a different stylistic match up for Jones that we haven't seen before. We've seen Jones/Machida already, and not that long ago either. I wouldn't mind seeing a fully prepared Machida against Jones, as I think those two have the most interesting stylistic match up in the division. But for now, Belfort at short notice with nothing to lose is actually a very intriguing fight.

    :good

Belfort is on the outside looking in, and everyone will understand if he gets his ass kicked because less than a month is still very short notice to prepare for a title fight against a dominant champion. So if he can make the weight then yeah, he should do it.

Machida, on the other hand, fought for and was granted a full title shot. He needs and deserves the opportunity to have a full camp to prepare himself properly for his challenge.

    War Sonnen!

Yeah, you can definitely hate on Chael for his mouth and his fighting style, but the guy is a warrior.

Pretty much. If the fight is two minutes old and Vitor hasn't won yet, you'd expect that it's all bad news for him from then on.

    :hat

i was hoping for the sonnen fight after hendo dropped. Both are top tier wrestlers and would of brought something new vs jones. Vitor will get destroyed.

I dislike sonnen but, its a far better fight then vitor.

Many of Jones' fights have been against solid wrestlers.

I'm interested in the style match up. If vitor avoids the ground it's interesting. He's a little more one dimensional than lyoto but faster and more devastating with his power.

The funny thing is, Sonnen and Belfort, stylistically have a better chance at beating Jones than any other LHW does, except for Machida.

Sonnen has his power double, which is better than anyone else's in the division and top control, which I believe is better than anyone else's not named Jon Jones.

Vitor has his explosiveness and hand speed, also good BJJ.

Jones should win both of course, but they definitely pose interesting match-ups.

I agree Jones-Belfort is a pretty cool fight to throw together at the last minute, but Machida has a more realistic chance of beating Jones IMO.

Out of interest when was the last time someone tried to take Vitor down? Obviously there's the Rumble fight, but AJ was dead on his feet and desperate.

Cant think of any fights in his UFC run where he was on his back otherwise. The Tito and Hendo fights are the only ones that are springing to mind
