"A history of NW boxing needs to be done some day, both homegrown fighters and greats who fought here. "

That would be good. There is a small book that contains some history of Pacific NW boxing that you might be intereted in. See: [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Dream-Buck-Era-Robert-Jepperson/dp/1456516515[/ame]

But, a comprehensive book on boxing history in the Pacific NW would be great. A friend, John Ochs, is working on a book about promoter Jack Hurley that will contain a lot of information about boxing in the area. It's hard to imagine Joe Gans fighting on Bainbridge Island in 1906.

Freddie Steele would be an obvious choice for a book.
Called the greatest i ever fought by both Gorilla Jones and Fred Apostoli, perusing their resume's, that astounding!

Factor in Freddie would have been even better than that had he not been turned pro at the age of 12.
    Yeah I'd read that book!
