ive got irish blood from my mums side but im scottish born and bred. i dnt really see the big deal in having irish blood, well, unless your a celtic fan ha! anyway if its true tyson fury's off the gypo's then he's genetically more irish than english so he's quite right to claim to be irish imo. to be honest who gives a ****, he's not going to be the nxt lennox lewis. hope he does well tho.

I don't consider him a countryman. He was born and raised in England of parents born and raised in England. Fair enough if he's proud of his Irish ancestry but where do you draw the line? Are 6th generation Irish-Americans Irish?

I wish him well though, despite his shameful ducking of Price, he's a likable guy.

Also, Phil Mitchell is a mong.

I find this thread quite ironic what with the types claiming Fury as an 'English man' are the exact same ones who claim Chisora and Mo Farah as 'English men'. They really need to make up their mind one way or other.

Don't be a prat. It's Fury and his marketing team who have gone down the irish route. The Irish (North and South) couldn't give a **** about him.

Anyone remember when Ricky Hatton supposedly was going to go down the Irish route and change his name to O'Hatton or something like that ..

Could it be that for whatever reason theres so much racist/prejudice against what he really is? that he needs to cling to something else, A TRAVELER UNCLE TOM ?

He's both. This is no different to Fillipinos supporting and being proud of Donaire, or Fillipino Americans doing the same with Pacquiao.
