They never won Gold in Olympics, won any tournament like the Super Six or had such great amateur records or had achieved so much so early in their career or faced as many diverse high-level opponents as Andre Ward (after he has beaten Chad Dawson).

I think it would be the most high-technical exciting match of the century :)

Mayweather was robbed of a gold medal. He had nine defences under his belt by his 26th fight aged only twenty five. Ward has had 4 defences under his belt after the same amount of fights aged 28.

Mayweather is the more accomplished boxer at their respective points of their career.

When you refer to his slapping, I guess you refer to his effective point-scoring rapid fire punches of low power but high speed, thus making them effective anyways and hard as **** to defend against?

But which boxers on the level of Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler has Floyd Mayweather defeated? :D

Andre Ward has fought the best in his weight class, all of them, which is something neither the Klitschkos or Mayweather has managed to do.

No doubt he will.. He schooled Kessler and Froch, two very good fighters.
I don't think that Dawson has the ability to keep Ward at range and he can't beat Ward on the inside where he is just a machine.. So that's another world class boxer on Ward's resume.

What i am really stunned by is Ward's inside game and his ability to avoid being stuck on the outside.. He has many qualities, but keeping Ward away or beating him on the inside is a nightmare.. And that's a loss for MANY fighters when they can't keep him away or beat him on the inside..

When I refer to his slapping, I pejoratively refer to his womanish technique which was appropriate for a boxer who sat in his back yard for well over a decade waiting for the best fighters in the world to slide past their primes to a point where he was willing to leave Europe to fight them.

Mikkel Kessler was a very impressive win for Calzaghe. Chris Eubank was a very impressive win for Calzaghe. Bernard Hopkins, even if way out of prime, was still an impressive win, due to his solid style :)

How has any of those proven to be on the level of Kessler and Froch? :? And unlike Mayweather, Ward fights all the best of his division.

I give him the most credit for the Kessler win.
