****-what part of Ireland are you from there is thousands of Eastern Europeans,Chinese etc with Irish accents in Ireland because thats where they learnt to speak English.
If Fury (an Irish surname) wants to claim his Irish blood his Dad was born in Galway then let him - stop playing up.

Are you serious? If Joe Calzaghe was shite, you'd call him Welsh, not British. And you all claim our Northern fighters. :patsch Anyway, he claims to be Irish.. the same as Matt Macklin. Grow up you fool.

"Anyone who's even remotely successful, their grandad enjoyed the odd pint of Guinness and it's enough for the irish to try and claim them"? You want to give us a few examples of that? I can give you an example of Brits claimin anyone else.. your Rugby team.. enough said.

David Haye was going to go down the Irish route and change his name to David O'Hayegan.

    Who is claiming him?

Im Irish, with Irish friends, family and acquaintances. 95% of them dont know who tyson fury is, of the 5% who do, nobody has ever talked about him as Irish. Maybe he is, maybe he isnt.

Also, of the Irish posters on here, I have never heard one claim him (whatever the **** that means).

So my question is, what the hell are you talking about? and who are these people claiming him?

From what I can make out he himself claims to be half Irish and has fought for an Irish title and fought as an amateur for Ireland. Now whether or not that makes him Irish is none of my business and quite frankly I dont give a ****. He's not me, nor a friend of mine, nor a relative of mine, so I dont know how Irish he is or isnt or what nationality he considers himself.

OP has a serious chip on his shoulder..
