By Klitlicker logic even if you are in your late 30's and beat the last guy you face, your last opponent scared you into retirement. Rocky Marciano was scared into retirement by Archie Moore after stopping him in 9 rounds. And to the idiots saying Lewis promised Vitali a rematch, if some sore loser got in your face after you beat his ass to a stoppage, you'd probably promise him whatever he wanted to get out of your face. Vitali had no right to try putting Lewis on the spot like that after the fight, and should have let him celebrate his win while discussing a possible rematch later. Instead he got up in Lewis's face and demanded a rematch he was in no way entitled to and took Lewis's "ya" as a full-on contract.

I actually watched the fight again recently. its closer than you'd think, Lewis was catching Vitali a lot but that jab of Vitali was doing some good work pointswise even if it wasnt hurting Lewis at all. tbh you;d expect it to be closer, Vitali had every advantage coming in so it was the best chance he was ever going to get. In a rematch, Lewis would have been in better shape and would have really hurt him. Wow, Lewis was really slowing down in that fight, no wonder he retired. Klit wasnt much faster but then he was prime so imagine how quickly he would have ended up on the floor if lewis was just in his early 30s. Would have been a massacre.
