    exactly.
we said the same about ali, quarry and others, before their late and/or comeback fights.

did these fights do damage to them?
    of course not!

hah wat a joke, briggs was 12 years older when vitali opted to fight him.

Lewis faced prime briggs not joke briggs, what do you expect briggs to fight like, what a loser to think otherwise.

Yeah because we all know Briggs stayed at the top for all those years until Vitali fought him...

Briggs was irrelevant most of the time during Vitali's title reigns. It's a miracle he ever got a shot.

forget the fact holyfield has 2 wins in the last 5 years ...against brian nielsen and frans botha.
the fact holyfield isnt ranked by the WBC nor should be should end any discussion about a vitali vs holyfield fight

He isnt ranked because they do not want him to continue thats more of a politcal thing.
I ask anybody this between the two who deserves it more, Evander or Rahman? why is Rahman getting a shot here? Holyfield did beat WBA champ Valuev, sure he had wins over Botha and Neilsen but look at how he looked in those fights....
IMO Valuev only won 2 rounds against Holyfield... Sorry but this old man puts out more when he fights than these younger guys who simply show up for a pay check, once they get touched by a klitschko they look for a place on the canvas to lay down, Evander doesnt do that

Old Holyfield does okay against guys without power. See his deserved UD12 over Valuev before Haye beat him. Problem is Vitali has power.

Vitali doesnt have one shot Kayo Power, look at how long it takes for him to stop guys... he has to work to get the stoppage, he does have a good jab which a taller fighter with a good jab has always given Evander problems.
but I will say this, Chisora found a way to get inside and make Vitali work in a very good fight, Evander will do the same and will take more risk.

    This was a no brainer.

It would have much more embarrassing for Vitali for him to fight Holyfeld, than not.

It would have been either a 2nd round or Evander might have came in game and pushed him to limit.

Yes, that's why Vitali is all wrong for Holyfield. Because he'd destroy him a la Briggs. He'd work him for 6+ rounds. A merciful one-punch KO would be the best case scenario but that's more likely to happen vs Wlad.

The best W on Vitali's resume is Corrie "The White Tiger Woods" Sanders.

Klitschko the Elder should give Old Man Holyfield his shot. At the least, in beating Holyfield, Klitschko the can say he has a W against an ATG HW.
