    On the scorecards.

Please don't believe that 37 year old Sergio Martinez with relatively no marketability in the future will be given a decision over rising Mexican star Chavez Jr, regardless of how badly he schools him.

    No. Way. In. Hell.

Just be ready for all the 'effective aggresion' arguments.

    Chavez MD12.

That was pretty much a given as soon as the public started demanding this fight. With it being a classic matchup of the come-forward aggressor vs the boxer-mover, the precedent was already set for Chavez the aggressor to be favoured in all of the close rounds. The only way Martinez wins on points is if he makes sure none of the rounds are close. Give the judges no reason(s) to reward Chavez with whatever he's doing <---- something I believe he can and will do.

Looking forward to some especially brilliant and convincing CompuBox-based arguments.

Nah. Not if he beats him up like he did Pavlik.

But yeah, if it's close, they will probably give it to Jr.

I really don't think it needs to be close, Martinez will sweep the first 5 rounds, from then all Chavez needs to do is be active & pressure till the final bell and a great deal of people will argue a 115-113 scorecard and say 'it wasn't a robbery, it was a close fight, it could have gone either way'.

Bane, bradleys face was never busted up like pavlik and i noticed chavez bruises and swells up every fight, because his defense is horrible.Chavez will have to box at some point, because if he just comes forward all night he will walk into martinez's traps and take a beating.

This is not an in-house fight so it's highly unlikely. Although, we've seen it before when Malignaggi got robbed against Diaz (DiBella and GBP respectively).

    It depends...
Unless Martinez fights out of character for this single fight.
Most of his fights will tend to be on the close side because of his Low workrate & constant movement. (Some judges don't appreciate that)

His backing up can be perceived as a backpeddle rather than him setting angles.

IF he scores the KO that would be best.
But Martinez is NOT a "Boxer" he is a brawler w/speed & reflexes.
But definitely not what we all know & assume as a "textbook" boxer.

The sad thing is I'm putting some money on SD12 for money to drown my sorrows about another expected injustice.

I don't see martinez pulling out the KO. He has the better boxing skills for sure but I also think Jr. has power. I believe its going to be a close one.
