I like the Wladamir, and his reign is impressive, but be realistic, of course he has not beaten top class/HOF opponents. Someone said here he will have longer reigns than Frazier, Ali etc. Well Wlad didn't ever face anybody near that level of competition, through no major fault of his own, it just isn't there at the moment. He may retire as somewhat of an unknown entity in that it will be very difficult to know how good he was because for long periods the poor level of competition didn't really test him.
Byrd, Chambers, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Haye...These fighters would be competitive in any era. Obviously Wlad isn't going to fight A-level opponents in all his fights. Even Louis had his bum and Ali had his Richard Dunn, etc.
This isn't a bad thread... aside from all the racism that plagues pages 2-5... anyways Klitschko needs his Fraizer. A lot of the opponents he faced would actually fair well in most era's, they won't be anything crazy but a prime byrd, prime Haye would/could easily hold a belt in any era. Haye was supposed to be Klitschko's Fraizer but the fight wasn't too exciting (was a masterpiece in its own way but boring) and thus we are here arguing how weak the era is... ultimatly no matter how long the reign is... Wlad will not be considered top 3 unless he finds his Fraizer (yes i had to say it 3 times).
Wlad will never be Top3. His early loses (especially the ones against Sanders and Brewster, because he wasn't so green in those ones) damage his legacy. Top10 is the highest he can climb, imo.
