The man has been working as a promoter for 13 years now, add two years and make that 15 years. That'll be about the time induction can no longer be denied. Bönte has promoted an incredible 22 HW title fights with a couple more to come. He has pulled off negotiating tough fights and getting contracts signed when many already gave up. Bönte staged fights HW title fights in America, Germany, Poland and an upcoming bout in Russia. Hard to not respect Bönte's achievements, the guy's a legend :deal
Other than promoting the Klitschkos, what has he done? I can't think of any promoter, trainer, etc. who's in the hall on the back of only two fighters. Probably the most borderline promoter in the Hall is Russell Peltz, and even he still promoted about a dozen good to great fighters (Benny Briscoe, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Marvin Hagler for a while, Arturo Gatti for a while, Marvin Johnson, Charles Brewer, etc.). Good for him that he's made a good career running K2, but it's not like he's done particularly well for the K2 fighters whose last names aren't Klitschko.
Of course he should. What other promoter can make Bob Arum's notoriously poor TR undercards look like "Night of the Legends" with such frightening regularity? Yup.If there's a category for the promoter with the most dreadful undercards to World Title fights then he's a first ballot ATG.
If Bonte's not the best, m, he's certainly the biggest. Approaching him, Wlad 'n Vitali is like a cluster of Sequoias.
Wlad and Vitali are scared shitless of Bonte. They're basically his employees and whenever Bernd has a bad day he'll let it out on them poor Ukrainian *******s.
