Agree with Cotto having better wins at WW, but he only has 4 fights at LMW. He did beat Margo at LMW and looked good doing it.

Cotto did not fight well at 145. Part of that was Pac dominating him physically. Cotto could not deal with Pac's combination of speed and power at that weight. I don't think 2lbs makes much of a difference, but 9lbs definitely does. He fit into 154 well and did not slow down much. He showed that against Margo and Floyd. Floyd was in control over the entire 36 minutes, but that was because of skill. Cotto could not connect and Floyd could. Most importantly at 154 Cotto could bully Pac around the ring and force an inside fight that Pac will find it tough to deal with.

 

i get what you are saying about those extra pounds where cotto would be more able to withstand some punishments. but pac hit him with fast and accurate shots straight to his jaw. that extra pounds would not have saved cotto. maybe the current pac version that is fading, cotto might bully but not the 2009 beast-mode version, even at 154. those 17 pounds of weight didn't even help margarito against pacquiao. well maybe it helped that it forced pacquiao to think and not fight at LMW anymore. as it is, pac was already outsized at the weight by most WWs.

 

Both resumes are good. Mayweathers resume at 140-154 is better than pacs, anything below that Pacquiaos is better. They are 2 ATG in our era that should have fought each other but never.

At the time cotto was fighting at 147lbs and Pacquiao at 140lbs, why would they fight at 154lbs?

Both Mayweather and Pacquaio must share the blame for the fight not happening. They could have made it if they wanted to bad enough.

Great point,I can see if Floyd ducked a test,but he is taking the same test.. Pac never wants to play on a even playing field it seems,all his tactics he pulls to have an advantage..
