    Right.

Ray Robinson would not last 10 seconds with Cintron.....any version of Robinson, any version of Cintron.

    Right.

    Bon Appetit.

Modern boxers do have an advantage over past boxers, nutrition, training techniques, etc. But saying Lewis or Vitali would KO Ali, Frazier etc in one round or in the first minute is ridiculous.

Just because they are modern fighters doesn't give them a god-given right to be better than older fighters, just like being a classic fighter doesn't give you the god-given right to never slip down in the top 10 ATG list for the rest of eternity. It's a balance.

The comparasion of boxing with athletics is a bad one, because in athletics there is a measurable way of deciding who is faster, throws further, etc. Boxing match-ups are all hypothetical and paradoxical and you can never tell for sure what way they would go, what conditions they would be under even.

I don't mention PEDs lightly, but the 80s (and 90s in particular for boxing) I think were rife with PEDs, testing was even more lax than it is today.

Ike Williams, Joe Gans, Kid Chocolate, Carlos Ortiz, Roberto Duran would be humiliated by current lightweight greats such as Miguel Vazquez and Ricky Burns.

Ali lose to Bowe, Lewis, and the Klitscho's because they were super heavies? You do know Ali beat a prime Foreman, and Foreman won a title during the Bowe era at the age of 45.

Styles makes fights. Look no further than Ali, Foreman, and Frazier.

When are people going to stop telling that ridiculous lie???

Fighters in the past drank pure water...breathed fresh air...and ate fresh foods free from any and all additives and carcinogens....they didn't need supplements...

As for training techniques.....c'mon...you obviously don't know what the **** you're talking about.

If any of that is true then they sure as hell aren't using them..

Jack Dempsey for example had MOST of the same **** they have today:

    Sparring
    heavy bag
    speed bag
    double end bag
    roadwork
    hitting the mitts
    jumprope
    medicine ball
    free weights
    swimming
jumping jacks and all the other calisthenics
    ect ect ect

Yes this is true and it is one reason why they were so good. As far as know professional boxers were no even tested after bouts that time. So its quite natural that many of them could beat todays rivals. I know many people dont want to accept it but it is the truth.
