If you were Floyd Mayweather, would you give Pac the 50/50?

Make it 70-30 for the winner then. This is why we havent seen the fight. I cant believe boxing fans support this. Its par t of the reason why we dont see the fights we want to see. If we go off your terms, we will never see the fight. And that's a fact. Its been a proof so far.

No, c'mon now...Floyd is in the driver's seat though and what he says will go..he'll conceed to some demands as he did to the $10 million dollar penalty, sure. But let's be real, he is in the driver seat. The article released from the 2010 negotiations showed solid information that Floyd was going to get everything his way, but Manny turned down his 50/50 because of drug testing being asked in 2010, not 1989.

As for the numbers, I'll give em to you amongst common opponents.

    Mayweather De La Hoya
    2,400,000 PPV buys
    $138,000,000 Revenue
    $26.2 Million with upside

    Pacquiao De La Hoya
    1,200,000 PPV buys
    $70,500,000 Revenue
    $22.8 Million with upside

    Mayweather Hatton
    920,000 PPV Buys
    $49,000,000 Revenue
    $24.8 with upside

    Pacquiao Hatton
    850,000 PPV Buys
    $48,000,000 Revenue
    $21.9 with upside

So you can see, that 50/50 was fair when the first negotiations took place, thus it was agreed on by both sides almost ASAP. Even after Pacquiao and his camp said Floyd would use the money as a way out...he didn't.

Now watch as Manny stays the same (and his stock has fallen since losing to Bradley officially), while Floyd raises his stock and we can see why a 50/50 is no longer a fair deal for Floyd.

    Mayweather Marquez
    1,005,000 PPV buys
    $53.9 Revenue
    $25.0 with upside

    Pacquiao Marquez 3
    1,450,000 PPV buys
    $74.0 Revenue
    $25.5 with upside

    Mayaweather Mosley
    1,400,000 million PPV buys
    $78.2 Revenue
    $40.0 with upside

    Pacquiao Mosley
    1.15 Million PPV buys
    71.9 Revenue
    $22.5 with upside

    Mayweather Cotto
    1.5 PPV buys
    94.0 Revenue
    $45.0 with upside

    Pacquiao Cotto
    1.25 PPV buys
    $73.0 Revenue
    $25.0 with upside

You can't ignore these numbers; they won't ignore them in negotiations.

It isn't "my" terms..it's the numbers looked at when negotiating.

We haven't seen the fight because Pacquiao and his team are scared of losing their investment. The drug testing was a fair call and the 40 million was fair. So Manny should have accepted his fair deal and taken the fight when he had the chance. Hopefully he does take it eventually.

I'm all for them fighting with 50/50...but I'm not going to put blame on the guy who is making the fair offers while the other guy is hiding like a baby behind his mgr, trainer, and especially his promoter.

Visionquest informed Pac that he didn't even get paid for the Cotto fight...his dumb-ass better get some investor money together and buy out his Top Rank contract while he still has a shirt..

Based on those numbers, Floyd is nowhere near 50% more of a draw to justify even 60/40. As I said, 55/45 to 52/48 is the range

Most people are buying a PPV to watch Mayweather get knocked out.Hoping that this could finally be the time.So if everyones paying to see Manny knock out Floyd,Manny should get 80% of the PPV.

The reason we havent seen the fight is not because of Pac only. It's Floyd, GBP, Bob Arum, Pac, egos, and us fans that support their ego battles. Manny doesnt want to take the Mayweather term tests because of his ego, GBP/Floyd and TR ego fued is bad for boxing, etc. For the sake of this fight, it should be 60-40 or 70-30 and winner makes more than the loser. For the sake of this fight. So far the fight hasnt been made because of all those negotioations. None will budge. 60/40 or 70/30 with the winner making bigger purse. For the sake of this fight and for the fans.

Go ahead and average it out and you'll find he is...those are millions bro...

at 52-48 Floyd is making pennies more than he did for Cotto while Manny is making double his high payday.

And I've already told you why your reasoning is wrong.

One guy would be guaranteed almost double his highest payday (Pacquiao) and another fighte would take a paycut for his guarantee.:deal (Mayweather).

Why do people concern themselves so much with the split? Won't make any difference to your bank account. Do you want to see a fight or not?

We are on a boxing website where fans can talk about anything related to boxing.

So is it really crazy that the split between the 2 biggest fighters alive today is being talked about in a boxing forum?:huh:think

We're talking revenue, not net pay. Lets say they split 50/50. Pac gets about 37m, the rest goes to Arum. So Floyd is still making 35% more than Pac, even under 50/50.

You also forget that Floyd insists on promoting this event, which means he gets the gate proceeds and the bulk of the advertising, which for this fight would be huge, There's also the international rights, which would be massive.

No, or they can just do a fair deal based on past numbers. So the $40 million Manny turned down was fair. The drug testing was a legit demad that should have been met without question as both men are athletes and Manny turned it down.

Whatever the case, we are talking about the split though...and based on past numbers, $40.0 million was a fair offer to Manny.

The dipshits here do not seem to understand the difference between what Floyd's purse is for his fights, and what he takes home after all is said and done as the *ahem* promoter.
