trout by UD....cotto's a damn fool for this one. stylistically he'd have a better shot at canelo and financially it ain't even debatable.
How do you see Trout keeping his head above water? IMO he isn't fleet of foot enough to stay away from Cotto, and doesn't have the pop to trade with him, and is in for a rude awakening if he thinks you can easily out-jab Cotto... If Cotto can find a home for his left while cutting the ring off, I don't see Trout having many options. He'll have to pick his poison and give Cotto either his head or body as a target. Like I said, we don't know anything negative about Trout's chin yet (and maybe there isn't anything to know) but he'd better be prepared to soak up some real punishment on it, and on his ribcage. Cotto is going to come at him with a lot more sharpness and focused intensity than any of the B- level guys Trout has been able to coast against so far. Now, Trout will have opportunities to counter, but will it matter? I won't go as far as to call him feather fisted, but average hitting at best.
If neither Top Rank or Golden Boy have a stake in this fight, Trout will likely outbox Cotto and get the decision. If one of the previous mentioned does have a stake in it, then Trout will likely outbox Cotto and lose the decision.
Good matchup. Quite a schedule for Miguel these last couple of fights. Trout is not special in any dept, but he's probably the hungriest aside from Lara and that could make him dangerous. I expected more from Rodriguez, but Trout just outclassed him. Cotto tho too versatile for him, but Trout should be game. Looking forward to this.
He's good but he's not a big puncher and there's no way he's winning a decision over Cotto in New York with that style...just not active enough.
Austin has a bit of slickness on him and he loves to double and tripple his jab. His workrate is low and movement is average. His ring IQ Ill say is average as well. He boxes well, and not lighting fast but he is quick. Not sure about his chin, and there is no reason to belive that he has glass but again, I have not seeing him being hit solid enough to rate. Not sure what was the reasoning behind Cotto and his team. Not a necesary fight, but its good and will quiet the haters! :deal Congrats to Austin! He seems like a clean, respectable boxer! War Cotto!
