he beat anybody around lightweight, guys like broner, garcia, uchiyama, marquez and matthyse, but would lose or have close matches with world class welterweights up to midleweight. ortiz, berto, guys of that caliber no problem. floyd would outfrustrate him and duran lose. cotto would get hammered and duran win. pacquiao at that stage doesn't have enough left for duran, duran wins by TKO. martinez, naturaly to big and still in his prime beats duran at middleweight.

p4p duran would be #2 behind floyd, martinez beats duran, but its unfair, because duran is a natural lightweight and martinez a natural light middleweight, thats way p4p wise duran > martinez.

I would give Broner, Mathysse and JMM a decent chance of beating a 135 lbs Duran.. Duran is not a demigod, he's beatable.. Do some research buddy.. Duran fought who? Come on, let's get real.. JMM cleared the division before he moved-up in weight.. Broner is still green and by the time he gets to 135, he'll be a real force to deal with.. I give JMM the upperhand against Duran @135, I give Broner lower than 50% and Mathysse lower than 30%.. But the thing is, they have a chance.. :smoke

Cotto-Duran would be 50-50, because Cotto has problems with boxers that returns fire with fire..

Prime Pacquioa would put a brutal beating on Duran in a bloody fight.. Would have been the fight of the decade.. :deal

Duran would have made mincemeat of the opposition in all four weights he fought in.
He would have been flawless at 135, beating both Pacquiao and Money Mayweather with relative ease, and more than would have held his own at 147, 154, and 160.
I feel that he would have absolutely THRASHED Kelly Pavlik, you think his assault on the late Davey Moore was bad, watch how he goes about ending Pavlik's career.
Sure, Martinez would have been more difficult a challenge, but I felt El Cholo had what it took to beat him, too.
Bottom line, Duran is a true ATG, and he would have been such in this era, while ducking NOBODY.

JCC liked for opponents to hit him. At 135, you did NOT, under any circumstance, want to get hit by Roberto Duran.
It only appears that SRL fanboys are the ones who routinely downplay Duran's career.
I take it you lost some money when SRL was beaten soundly, even though he, in your words, fought the wrong fight, he still fought and still lost.

Pac and mayweather would seem to be his only competition, although I have to throw in Marquez, he can hang in with anyone. Duran would likely be champ--if they fought. Mayweather and Pac still have not fought, which is unforgivable.
