Could Joe Calzaghe still be undefeated if he fought Roy Jones Jr's opponents?

DISCOUNT THE RUIZ FIGHT and the fights Roy had against the CW'S.

so Joe vs Roy's opponents from MW-LHW

    Can he?

    Gotta go by timeline.

So you can't take Prime Calzaghe against every one of Roy's opponents.

Old Calzaghe vs Tarver x3, vs Glen Johnson etc.

Young Calzaghe vs Hopkins I, vs Toney, etc

Prime Calzaghe vs the LHW Era Jones fought

Probably not, old Hopkins made him look stupid.. I'd expect one of either Hopkins or Toney to beat him, and probably beat him rather convincingly.

    Obviously not.

Young Hopkins, prime Toney, John Ruiz and Antonio Tarver would definitely all have beaten him.

Virgil Hill, Montell Griffin, Thulane Malinga, and Glen Johnson all could have, would be dangerous fights for Joe, who was in all fairness vastly inferior to Roy.

Add Reggie Johnson to that list its probably Jones most underrated win.

Johnson had never been dominated prior to facing Jones and Roy made him look completely inept very underrated win like i said, Johnson at his best would give Calzaghe hell and maybe even beat him.

    I meant to vote no.

I think Young Joe would have lost to Young Hopkins.
Vs Toney it would be 50-50

Glen Johnson at lhw in around 04-05 was a tougher opponent than anyone Joe ever faced, ancient Hopkins aside. That version of Johnson easily pounds a decision out over Kessler. Johnson is bigger and stronger than Joe, and just as busy. He doesn't have the same speed, but his pressure and aggression could still have made life very very difficult for someone with the **** defence of Calzaghe. Think Reid vs Calzaghe, but more punishing for Joe.

Nah. Reggie was well past his best by then. The version Roy beat was well inferior to the peak Reggie who fought James Toney and Steve Collins.

    Nice breakdown.
I also think Glen would of beaten him by ud. Dawson only survived their first fight because he started to fight off the back foot from round 6 onwards, Calzaghe would of stayed in front of him and lost by ud

That much i know thats why i said prime Reggie would have give Calzaghe all he could handle not the version Jones beat, that version would get beat by Calzaghe but not as clear as some people might think he would.
