He took this fight on short notice. He had a handy EBU defence in the works but took this massively risky fight instead. He gave it his best. He never stopped trying. He threw a lot of punches and worked angles but was just outclassed by a better schooled fighter who happened to have a monstrous punch. And in his final knock down, you could tell his body was absolutely wasted but he got up and genuinely wanted to fight on. He did his fans proud. Just came up against someone who is special. That's boxing.

I have a lot of respect for Proksa. Kept getting up, never stopped trying to throw bombs. And the ref's stoppage was excellent. Proksa is the type of dude would keep getting up and end up getting seriously hurt.

Good thread. I completely agree. He's a gamer and I'd like to see him again.

Massive respect!!! I screamed for the ref to stop it just before he fell for the final KD. I don't know how he found the strength to get up.

I believe Proksa would have a decent chance beating anyone in the middleweight division not named Gennady Golovkin. Proksa is actually a brave, strong boxer. It's just that Golovkin is an unnatural monster.

People are too quick to write a fighter off. I liked Roy's commentary tonight; he was very fair with both fighters and even when Proska was losing to GGG, he kept on complimenting Proksa's heart and determination. GGG is on another level. I think he would even give big head fat boy JCC Jr trouble.

Massive respect for his toughness, but WTF didn't he listen to his corner?

He was practically sticking his face out towards Golovkin's rt hand, saying "please hit me."

Exactly, the guy fought his heart out, kept getting up. Frankly, I thought the ref pulled the plug a tad too quickly. He deserved to go out on his shield.
