Oh great. Tua fans can come out and start claiming he's one of the only legitimate threats to Wlad left in boxing, and push desperately for that fight They'll wheel him out to beat some nobodies, the hype will build, then he'll lose to someone like Barrett again. It's over for him
I have to disagree there, As a Pacific Islander he's our best Boxer we've ever produced. I'm very proud of him even if he didn't win the world title. Alot of us look up to him as the king of the pacific. His wife left him and he lives inside his gym. So in turn I support him if he wants to make a living based off his talents. Discipline has been one of his greatest struggles in regards to his weight (lol). Nonetheless I think even if can make a big fight like Cameron, Barrett or some lower level Heavy's it would be great for him to make some money for himself and his family. Regards, Tezel
It's sad when a guy needs to fight on for money when they've been such a big name. I don't have any problem with him making some money from his name (with careful matchmaking he should be okay), but I dread the next time he knocks someone out and all of a sudden people are calling for Wlad-Tua and start talking about his 'puncher's chance'. It's been going on for years :-(
If Rahman got his 5 minutes to recover as he should have, it would have been an L for Tua. That's not even up for debate.
I dont think anyone believes he will beat a klitchsko, but if and thats a big IF he motivates himself there are still plenty of entertaining credible fights out there for him. I have enjoyed following his career, wish him all the best and will be a fan and support him untill the end. Go Tua
So you have said about 95 times, we get the point you think Rahman deserved the win. It was how many years ago????? time to let it go! he didnt get the win end of.
Tua's power makes him too much of a risk for the bigger names, but if Tua does win a couple three fights, and does manage to beat someone fairly decent, then Tua may be able to get a fight with top five heavyweight.
Did his wife leave him? The few bits and pieces I saw made me think she was trying to manage him and ****ed everything up. Just what Tua needed after beind screwed by Kevin Barry and Pugh. He never should have left the Duvas. Who's the guy that said Adamek would easily beat prime Tua. This is a past it Tua. Adamek got wobbly legged and in trouble from Vitalyz jab. This is how Tua would have dealt with Adamek. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=BlS82LC3fTo
I don't know the specifics about it that's what I heard around the vine. They're separated reasons are unknown, but it was around the second Barrett fight I think. I totally agree though his management stuffed him up, as to the reasons he's still looking for a huge payday again. This article explains more: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/phil-taylor/news/article.cfm?a_id=125&objectid=3553172 Yeah he's still got that KO power, all it takes is just one punch.
