Who do you consider to be the better all round boxer?

The younger, more aggressive"Pretty Boy" Floyd or the older, more defensive "Money" Mayweather?

    Specifically,
Floyd - having just won his first world championships: having beaten Genero Hernandez and Corrales,
Against the older, declining, p4p champion that beat Mosely, Ortiz and Cotto?

Who do you prefer watching? [if you like either]
Did he become more technically skilled?

I actually prefer the older Mayweather, more willing to fight inside and engage. And he's become less elusive and that makes for better fights.
    What do you guys think?

    Older.

He's more experienced and skilled. Not as elusive as he was, but defence is somewhat still as effective. He's more conservative and wiser with his attacks, too. Makes his shots count more. The Mayweather against Hatton and Baldomir was the least dangerous of all, in my opinion. The likes of Cotto, Mosley and Pacquiao would have had a better chance against him, than any or most other versions.

Both are great, but it just depends who they put in front of him. I disagree 130 is the best version. 135 version was the best. After the Castillo loss he became better.

Mosley had him on ***** street, and Cotto was busting that nose.

Floyd can't dance like use to, Corrales TKO10 will always be his greatest performance.

He had him on ***** street with one shot then was outboxed completely. More to the fact the more experienced Floyd wasn't drawn out of his game plan and baited into fighting someone elses fight was he :good

When all things are considered and the weight is evened out,I'd fancy Corrales-victory Floyd to give anyone nightmares.
But Cotto-version makes for good entertainment. And he was fabulous against Hatton.

Surely you can see there's a big difference of styles between young floyd and an old floyd?
He's clearly adapted himself to account for his age.
He can't move as well any more, but he's become, in my opinion, a much more versatile fighter.

    i have to disagree

he may have more experience now but he used to be incredibly sharp, ahead of anyone in the current era in sharpness and skill by a long way. The Floyd from the JMM fight would beat the current Floyd :yep

    fair points though

The Mayweather that fought Marquez looked like the Hybrid to me. Great foot speed, matched by physical strength and stellar technique.

I prefer watching this Mayweather. He's still very quick, and very strong but you can really see now how intelligent he is in the ring. That's always been his greatest asset.
