He doesn't see that Floyd bounced out as quick as he sat down. They went right into what stopped the fight the prior time. Floyd told em they'd have to agree with no cutoff and when they responded with 7 days (as Koncz from Team Pacquiao said they did) Floyd had nothing left to talk about. There was "no room" for any "cutoff" at all and when they tried their stupid 7 day ****, Floyd laughed at em and bounced out as quick as they tried to sit down and get it done.:thumbsup

I personally thinks it's Spinks. The way he was able to shoot up from LH and go up to destroy the lineal HW champ Holmes twice back to back was stunning.

Michael Spinks rarely gets much credit around here. He is mostly remembered for being dismantled by Tyson (and fear) in one round...but that says as much about the people on this forum than anything else. Spinks went from an Olympic Gold at middleweight(!) to beating an unbeaten top-10 (maybe top 5) ATG HW twice (who still outweighed you by 20lbs), that is truly exceptional.

That's better than anything Floyd has achieved so far, and it looks likely to remain that way. However, Floyd's career overall is better. It's hard to pick this kind of thing. Floyd hasn't taken the opportunity to have that career defining fight, so I believe that has to count against him. However, on ability level alone I think Floyd should be ahead.

    Why would anyone say Floyd?

Spinks at LHW beat much better competition than Mayweather ever did, the HW wins are better than any of Floyd's achievements

Michael Spinks dominated one of the best eras in the light heavyweight division beating top quality guys like Dwight Qawi,Marvin Johnson,Yaqui,Eddie Mustapha Muhamad etc before moving up to HW and beat the undefeated ATG Larry Holmes twice, His first win over Holmes is a better win than any win in Floyd's career with that said Floyd is the more skilled fighter of the two although not by much and he also ranks higher than The Jinx but also not by much its like like splitting hairs here.

Its hard for me.... At this point I gotta say Spinks, who is in my top20, but Floyd have a chance to catch him, if he continue to fight guys of Cotto calibre for his last 2-3 fights.

Very close. Spinks has a top win that far outshines anything on Floyd's resume and long-term dominance of an excellent division. Floyd's been able to sustain elite success for a longer span of time and has greater depth of resume to balance out the difference in quality at the top. Both wonderful H2H fighters at their peak with very similar levels of talent/skill. I don't know, they're in the same range. I guess I'll say Floyd today, but they're practically interchangeable for me.

    Spinks easily.

May is great, but gets overrated simply cuz he a big star rite now. Even at his peak at 130-135, he ain't do all he coulda done. He beat the best guy at each weight and dominated some good contenders. But he never cleaned out either division.

Spinks cleaned out a very tough LHW era then moved up to knock off Holmes, who was aging but certainly still highly formidable.

Good call on Spinks not getting enough credit here.Definitely one of the finest LHWs of all time.Check out the wonderful afro and short left hand around 5.10.

My only problem is that his arse going against Tyson would tarnish him when standing against Floyd.
I'm not sure about this so I'll pass.I'd lean towards Floyd but I'm all for Jinx getting some long overdue credit.
