Do Mexicans dislike Sergio Martinez? Based on Style or Race?

Na hardcore Mexican fans, especially the older ones, know Maravilla is too much fighter for Jr just like we already knew Pacquiao was too much for Margarito. Don't think we don't want Jr to do good because we do, but when he starts acting "chiflado" (spoiled) which is a big no-no that is reserved for the likes of Camacho and he acts he's the 2nd coming of Duran when he's not even that good we don't want to route for a fighter that talks big. We want "hechos""show" us your great. Not one Mexican I know hates Maravilla, of course they say in their heart they want Chavez to win, but they recognize Sergio, they know who's the champ and who's the chump.

 

It's stems from the heated and hatred filled soccer rivalry. Mexicans see Argentineans as cheats and glass legged pussies, who fall and roll around like they are on fire whenever the slightest breeze from a rival player touches them. But only casual and nut suckers transfer this rivalry over to boxing because unlike their soccer playing compatriots, Argentinean boxers are some badass mofos. I as a Mexican, have tremendous respect.for them. In fact I'm rooting for maravilla. Cuz us regular Mexican folk have a deep hate for silver spoon fed, hijo de papi, diuretic using, no drug test taking, no you can't weigh my gloves cheating motherfukers.
