Who does Mexico like more? Canelo or Chavez Jr.?

I'm curious as to who is praised more in Mexico. And if a fight were to happen b/n them, who would Mexico favor (I know that's dependent on what happens Sept. 15, but let's just say fight happens now). I understand Chavez Jr. is labeled as spoiled by many. But what about Canelo? Is there any reason not to like Canelo from a Mexican perspective? Also, I understand Chavez Jr. and Canelo each represent a different network in Mexico, so I wonder if their respective popularities is related to that somehow.

 

idk, if i were from mexico i would have respected Canelo more up until this point. Chavez is showing balls and fighting the best, while Canelo is fighting a Jr. welterweight.

Why are people so interested in what Mexican fight fans like?
Besides we have so many champions & good fighters to choose from why narrow it down.

Chavez attracts haters aswell as fans.

 

Theres been alot of these kind of threads lately lol. i'm sure like any other race it differs from person to person. probably also fans that live in closer areas to some fighters like their hometown fighter more

 

This is a tough question.. I would say both are equally loved as of "right now"! After Sergio KO's Jr.. Then Canelo will be #1!

 

Canelo is more of a media pop star Jr because of his dad. I guess depends on the regions. Canelo shows more promise, but Jr showing dem balls. Jr like him or not getting way more respect as many know he's on a suicide mission.

 

If I were Mexican I'll give Jr more props (I do respect Jr), Canelo is more protected than Fort Knox

 

Well currently, Jr aint on the leftovers trail like that oscar wannabe.. people were giving him **** for fighting cans for a long time (and rightly so) but he's stepped up and got his just due

 

I like Chavez more... couldn't care less what everyone likes. But, I'd guess ginger

 

I lived in Cozumel Mexico, There Canelo was bigger. They root for their countries fighters for sure. If Chavez wins that would be huge but I believe Martinez will win the fight. Every body wanted to see a Chavez/Alvarez fight but it never took place.

 

Not sure, if I was a Mexican, I'd dislike them both, the way I like Froch but am not keen on Khan or Haye.
