roy would have won the super 6 and he would beat dawson at 175. because prime james toney could box better then ward and kessler and anyone else at smw or lhw and so could hopkins. roy was cold not even the purist boxers could beat him. toney, hopkins and even griffin could box better then roy i think. but roy was just to damn cold to **** with.
I see him doin just as great as he did 10 years ago..In his prime nobody from our CW or LHW division would haved had a chance...GOOD THREAD!!!
I would like to see how Ward develops. I think Ward is in the mix with all those guys. History isn't written yet.
He might not bother, he liked to maintain promotional control etc. I think his mission would be easier now than it was then though, so it's more likely. He certainly had the ability.
Regardless of the result, based on styles Bad Chad is trickier from the outside than Ward. If Ward beats Dawson it'll be by bringing the fight with pressure. Draining Chad has to factor into that gameplan imo. Can you imagine him pressuring RJJ, he'd be picked apart and maybe stopped for his trouble. Where as a rangier southpaw technician means Jones is forced onto the front foot, ala Harding type fight
He possibly doesn't work with Arum at 160, the Super 6 is quite none promoter control friendly though. It really only worked though because there was no established star going into it so they were more as a whole than as separate cash cows
True. I'm still not sure if Dawson has the right mindset to give his best against the best opponent of his career.
Yeah, an established Roy would probably prefer to tread water (unless he could get Bute to come south) and match the winner.
