Do you think Duran thought he'd have his handsfull against Benitez like that and lose

    Benitez came to fight on this night, and if you watch this fight he took Durans best and stood in the for what i would call a Roberto ass whoopin!...

    Benitez was the favorite...pretty clearly at first but I think Duran reeled him in a bit by fight time.

    WB beat him so clearly I don't think even a fitter Duran could have taken him that night...I don't think Roberto was far off it anyway.

    I didnt know Duran was the underdog..but then again he did get beat like one

    Thats not the article I remember reading, I'm not going to bother looking for it but it might not be up anymore...they were initially wider I think and I don't remember what they were by fight time.

    I've spoken to a few people who were around from the build up and it seems the consensus was that Duran was finished and Benitez was rejuvenated...but most didn't totally write off Duran because he how good he could be and how hot and cold Wilfred could be himself.

    Duran on his way out..But you still had to give him good odds to beat Benitez..
