Khan rejects Guzman, " I want someone who is more credible than him "

I agree with Khan here. This man has never come on weight in recent times, has accomplished nothing of note at 140, took some form of PEDs to get down to weight against that Davis dude. He's a potential flop and could **** the fight up by coming over.

I wouldn't say Khan would offer him anything more than Funeka did. I'm no Guzman fan at all, I consider him one of the most overrated fighters of all time, but I think he matches up well with Amir here.

Thing is, Khan isn't in this game to put over people over is he? And the respect he'd gain for beating Guzman is from hardcore fans only I'd imagine. Actually, scrap that, while the risk is way more than the reward, Guzman is the easiest fighter to spin into a Khan 'super fight' opponent (over here anyway)

'Undefeated', couple of straps in different divisions, a tasty and flashy highlight reel not indicative of his recent form...it'd sell easy, as long as people are interested enough to see Khan's latest 'comeback'.

He's certainly not Frank Bruno in that respect.

 

We hear this all too often but Khan's next fight really is make or break time.

As I have said previously, no point taking a fast track by going after a decent named opponent and trying to rush back into the mix. Have a 3 fight plan building yourself backup, and hopefully improving along the way. Otherwise its good night Alice.

 

His previous fight was make or break time. He lost to Peterson who was meant to fold in front of Amir's "incredible" speed and "sublime" skills. Then he lost to Garcia, who anyone decent could take apart. Morales - old, shot and overweight - lasted longer than Amir managed.

Amir needs to take himself apart and rebuild. He's young enough, but he's only interested in money and glory now.

 

If I was his manager I would have a confidence builder for him. After he lost to Prescott he faced Oisin ***an, and that's the sort of thing he needs right now. After that, maybe Malignaggi at 147 to pick up that WBA strap. Really, belts mean **** all these days but he'd be able to call himself a two weight world champ and get fights against bigger names.

I think Khan will win a world title again, and also get knocked out again. Then he will retire.

 

I think Khan might still get the fight with Mayweather, as daft and ridiculous as it sounds. People WILL pay for it, multiple KO losses or not.

According to some people, Khan simply HAS to be a star. That he won a silver nearly a decade ago seals it for them, even though other people have won golds or bronzes... or looked the dogs in the pro ranks in their early days.

The fact that Khan simply doesn't have the star quality that's needed to be able to step in the ring with the likes of a Mayweather and at least make a good account of yourself is apparently irrelevant.

Mayweather would treat Khan like a ginger haired step child, one that he doesn't really like.... a faded Hatton did OK-ish for five rounds before unravelling and eventually being stopped. Khan would be slayed inside five, and wouldn't be competitive in any of them.

 

But he just came in saying he refuses to fight an undefeated opponent and extremely live challenger because that fighter is below him. How in the wide wide world of sport could he parlay that statment against fighting Random Afrobum #41016?

Oh no doubt the guy is deluded about his actual level. Whoever his PR guy is should be fired. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the wild card to see what Manny, Ariza and Roach think of the leeches that surround Khan.
