First of all, very good fights, both guys put on a good show, especially the 35 year old McCallum vs the younger, faster, stronger & fresher Toney at age 24.

I never did a round by round exactly, I just judged as an entirety.

I felt a draw was fair in the first fight, McCallum showed the better jab & movement while Toney landed the harder punches, particularly with the right hand, if anyone deserved it then Toney probably did due to the damage he did throughout, especially in the last round.

The second fight wasn`t as good as the first but was still pretty good, again, a tough fight to score, I thought McCallum outworked (& often outboxed) Toney for the most part but still took the bigger punches, McCallum took less damage in this fight than he did in the first fight though while still remaining the more active fighter (as he was in the first fight), Toney threw a lot of flurries but McCallum just landed more & I felt should have edged a decision if anybody should have.

    Thoughts ? :think

Toney gets the first, McCallum the second.

I see it the same way. The first could have gone either way, and a draw and rematch seems the perfect ending to such a close, hotly contested fight. The second I have as a clear win for McCallum. Toney just didn't manage to land those big counter rights in the same way at all, and while Mike didn't do much damage either he worked consistently behind that jab, scoring points.

First a close win for Mike or a draw.

The second is the same story.

Quality performances by a slightly faded body snatcher.

In the first a draw is about right.

The second i thought McCallum won it clearly.

I thought Mccallum sneaked the first fight but I have to admit I'm a bit of a Toney hater.
Bias or no bias Mike clearly won the second. Proved himself the superior fighter.

What annoyed me about the 2nd fight in particular is the HBO crew mentioning every punch & even grazed punch by Toney & not mentioning a lot of McCallum`s work when it was right there in front of them... they really struggle to hide their bias, they are a bunch of ****s, Lederman is the worst.

I think mike definitely did prove superiority both as a fighter and a mw. I mean he beat sumbu, toney (by my cards) and had already beaten jackson. That's pretty impressive.
