If Manny can beat Cotto at any weight...why does he ALWAYS demand a catchweight?

Why would 150 be an advantage for Pac, when it's right in Cotto's sweet spot, and is Pac's fight night weight? Cotto would outweigh him by 10lbs

That's what weightclasses are for. To level the playing field. If you're a welterweight then your opponent can't weigh over 147lbs. The playing field is level.

Cotto isn't a welterweight, he's a jr middle - and there is NO 150lb weightclass.

Pacquiao is playing games with the catchweights in order to tilt the playing field in his favor.

I'm sure there are a bunch of lightweights and jr lightweights out there who would be more than happy to fight Pacquiao @ a catchweight somewhere between 130 and 144 pounds - but you don't see Pacquiao fighting catchweight fights where he has to move DOWN in weight. Why is that?

If Pacquiao wants to fight jr middleweights then he should stop with the catchweight BS and move UP to 154lbs...

Because he can't otherwise. It's funny to see the sheep follow his lead and defend any move he makes, as if he really gave two shits about them.

    To gain an advantage.

The same way Cotto sought a catchweight against Margs in their rematch.

Though it was and is obvious that the catchweights had nothing to do with the outcomes of each of the disputed fights.

I had a similar thread a while back. Some of the excuses will be mind numbingly stupid, but they are all excuses.

If Manny and Arum didn't think it mattered, it wouldn't be demanded.

Manny fighting at 147 prior to his fight with Cotto, and immediately after his fight with Cotto is the krypotonite fact to *******s.

lol 2nd time today that you show your ability to read is completely ****ed.

I'm saying he can beat him anyways, but that doesn't mean he should give him the advantage just cause he can beat him with it.

    Read my example again.

Cotto agreed to 150 last time. Manny dun ****ed up like he did with Floyd and that 50/50 back in 09. 154 or no fight.

So if it's no big deal ,then do it at 154..I mean you beat him at 145 and the weight does not make an issue right...so do it at 154 where Cotto doesn't have to starve for almost 2 full days before the weigh in.
