I heard personally from many British boxing enthusiasts/Hatton supporters that Floyd's left hook on Hatton in the 10th round signified much more than a boxing win

That left hook single handedly destroyed all of Britain's hopes/dreams.

When Hatton fell on the floor, Britain's chances of boxing glory went along with it.

First it was Tyson/Lewis where Lewis brought Britain glory

Floyd reclaimed America's pride with his win vs Hatton.

Floyd can be said as America's saving grace

It was much more than a beautiful left hook. It was more of a symbol of freedom.

This is your 3rd thread on a single punch.

Everyone loves seeing british hype get rightfully placed in the trash, but you need to stop.

Britain has had and will have success in boxing, Hatton isn't their only superstar.

In 2007, it was only Hatton and Calzaghe

Calzaghe was nowhere near as big as Hatton was. Hatton was Britain's only real superstar and when he fell on the floor, so did Britain's hopes and dreams.

They liked Hatton because he wasn't an "imported" fighter. Makes it all the more hilarious how he was embarrassingly knocked to b level where he belonged.

    *****-Logic trend continues:

Discredit Pacquiao's wins by downplaying the achievements of his past opponents

    and

give credit to Floyd's opponents :rofl:rofl

The thing is America as a whole doesn't quite latch onto Floyd. They love Pac more than they love Floyd. Nonetheless the win over Hatton is one of Floyd's best performances. Hatton's head hitting the turnbuckle is one of those things you'll never forget. I remember rooting for Hatton at the time and after the fight found myself admiring Floyd's ability to fight under so much pressure.

That left hook triggered the birth of a new parallel universe.
