Jon Jones first heavyweight fight could be... Matt Mitrione

    Matt Mitrione has told the UFC he will happily welcome Jon Jones to the heavyweight division, if the reigning light-heavyweight champion decides to make the move up a level.

     "Over time he (Jones) went from a pretty cool guy, humble, to as arrogant as I can handle," Mitrione said on The MMA Hour. "He seems really disingenuous, blah, not my flavour of a human being.

    "I even told [UFC matchmaker] Joe Silva, if he talks of going to heavyweight, I'd love to welcome Jon Jones to heavyweight. I'd love to try and punch you in the face."

    Asked if he could beat Jones, Mitrione responded: "Yeah, I think I can beat Jon Jones. I think on a good day I can beat anyone in the world."

    He'd be a perfect 1st fight at HW for Jones though if the UFC want to ease him in gently. Wont happen as they wont sell PPV's with that one I think

    I think Mittrione would be a better matchup against Jones than Irving was for Silva.

    I thought this thread was of Jon Jones coming to boxing as a HW. I don't know a Matt Maricone, lol.

    Mitrione's a bum. A hope the UFC give him $2000 for the fight. He'd soon change his mind.

    That's too risky a first fight. He needs a different bum. One with pillow hands. Then he can move onto more dangerous fights.
