Anthony Cacace vs. Aivaras Balsys, 8 rounds @ super featherweight

 

Round 1

Cacace is landing his jab at will. Balsys shells up and offers little back except a few timid pokes to the body with his left.

10-9 Cacace

 

Round 2

Balsys is stepping lightly to his left, awkwardly as though on stilts. Cacace scores with the jab over and through his guard, and begins to whip the right hand around to the backside. Balsys has no defense for it, and just keeps ducking down to absorb shots on his arms, teetering off-balance and trying to counter with left jabs to the body. A few reacharound body shots by Cacace under the elbows.

20-18 Cacace

 

Round 3

Balsys is getting moved several inches by every Cacace jab or whipping right to the body, not so much due to Cacace's power or torque as Balsys' own stance with his legs too close together and possessing the balance and steadfastness of a dove's feather. Cacace uses him for target practice, barely sitting on his shots but driving Balsys around the ring and easily blocking the few counter jabs he ekes out.

30-27 Cacace

 

He is 0-2. Never been stopped, though. :yep

 

Round 4

Cacace is getting fancier than he needs to here, adopting a bit of a Mayweather shoulder roll with his right glove up parallel with his mutton chops tucked into his jawline. Balsys keeps poking out with that weak left jab, stepping around with his feet either too close together or sprawled akimbo. It's a wonder Cacace isn't scoring any flash knockdowns, and one has to wonder if it's him lacking power or the fact that he isn't snapping anything out with enough velocity. Both work and connect rates are a landslide for Cacace, touching Balsys all over his head and body despite a consistent (if predictable and vanilla) defense.

Yeah, his blue drawers are dropping almost down to his crack.
