Who did you guys have winning this very close fight?
And why did you have them winning?

Of course it was so close there's really a good case for either side.

I tend to fluctuate, but after watching again recently, I have Leonard winning with 1 point in it.
    What did you guys think?

I'm a Hagler fan, and for years felt Hagler won. But looking at the fight objectively, Leonard pulled it out. Might have been different with a smaller ring and 15 rounds instead of 12.

It was close, but clear. Leonard won.

Back when I was younger and the first few times I saw the fight I'd say things like "Leonards running! Haglers chasing him! If only that ******* Leonard would sit still or try and trade shots..."

Hagler cornered him. Leonard punched his way out of the corner. Hagler lost.

I remember watching the fight on live circuit TV in a large arena when I was a kid. At the time I was a huge HUGE SRL fan. I argued for years with my dad for years that SRL won that fight but I knew in my heart MMH won the fight. I say MMH won it, very close but very clear.

115-113 Leonard. It was a close fight worth debating, but it was not a robbery.

I had Leonard winning a close fight, a draw is the worst Leonard deserved & a draw is the best that Hagler deserved but that`s still a fair result.

Leonard won more clear rounds IMO.

    1,2,3,4,6,11 go to Leonard
    5,7,8,9,10 go to Hagler

I more often than not give round 12 to Leonard or score it even, its not out of the question to score it to Hagler as its the hardest round to score & that`s why I say a draw is the best Marvin can do here from my judgement of the fight at least.

Everytime I score the fight, I score it for Marvin 7 rounds to 5. I just think his punches were more effective and overall that he should've gotten the nod in a close but clear fight.

    Leonard won 8-4.

And that was with me wanting to give rounds to Hagler.

Thats pretty much how I viewed it. Wanted Hagler to win and watched it many times trying to convince myself. Ray Leonard fought a smart fight.

I convinced myself on the night & years & years later that marv won it, but he did'nt, he let that snake take it & well done too that snake for having the balls to attempt it, regardless of marv's slipping & as we all know Marv handed over his belts on a plate. Clear SRL victory.
