How did he quit? I only say the end of the fight on youtube. But it seemed to me the KD came after two hits behind the ear and the dude stood up to continue the fight while Smooger waved him of because he was staggering. Which I believe as a devastating puncher as Ward was and with Dawson seemed not extremely affected by the KD the referee should had at least let him back into the fight for a few exchanges to see how he reacts.

Dawson told Smoger he didn't want to continue. He actually asked for the fight to be waved off, instead of going out on his shield. Ortiz got mauled for the same thing, even by Max Kellerman. Dawson shouldn't get a pass either. -(
