Ain't exactly any Pernells or Meldrick Taylor level guys to get in his way so he should have an uninterrupted reign for a while.

I'd actually like to see Ward move down rather than move up. Light heavy is a bit of a wasteland. There's at least a couple interesting fights that could happen at 160.

As impressive as Ward was last night, there's still something that I don't like about him, but I can't quite say what.

    - I don't mean that whole "God wants me to beat people up for a living" thing. I can just smirk and let that one go.

Something about his style, his attitude in the ring. I dunno, he was aggressive, but he also looked kind of sloppy when he let go on the inside. He's just not fun to watch.

I also think that a great opponent (don't know WHAT to think of Dawson's non-performance) would have taken him apart last night. He was wide open a LOT. I don't think this new style of his will serve him well down the road, unless he can continue to refine it.

The weight probably played a role, but I just thought it was a total choke-job by Chad. He utterly forgot about the jab and thought he was going to win the fight with the left hand alone..... wtf was he thinking?

The fight showed up Dawson's mental flaws (again) more than anything else for me..

Ward looked great last nite. Then again it's tough to look less than stellar against a guy who continually leads with his face.:-(

Second most complete boxer in the game behind pbf. He's a complete boxer who can fight at all ranges with a good defense and a high ring iq. He's really a nightmare match up stylistically. His foot work is arguably the best in the game today. I don't see anyone beating him at 168 or 175. I have him ranked p4p #3.

I agree with you about the white gloves, they do look big as pillows. I think white gloves are bad for the sport, as when a casual fan watches and they see giant gloves, it takes away from the intensity of the fight.

Anyone that's been watching Andre Ward since the 2004 Olympics has known it's only been a matter of time until he is acknowledged as the best fighter in the world.

Obviously a great fighter, though crude at times and not pretty to watch. While he gets the job done, he is overrated (not unsurprisingly) by most Americans on here.

Crude and ward don't belong in the same sentence.

He easily won the super Six and then beat the champion in the next highest weight class just as easily. That's pretty good.
