Ward should stay at SMW for a few more fights, if Chavez Jr pulls it out he can move up thats a big fight for him, He can also take a fight with Kelly Pavlik which is a good fight for him... he has a few options there not many but a few whats really at Light Heavy right now?

Yeah cus looking great at the weigh in means your healthy... Umm look at how he looked in the fight his legs were never under him from the 1st on and his timing was ****.

The WBC put a new rule out that you all made a thread about stating it was the Chavez rule, I dont know why you said it would favor chavez but the rule states according to the thread, that a fighter fighting for a WBC title can not put on more than 15 pounds after the weigh in.

And a guy like Dawson who is cutting an additional 7 pounds, you see this is what you all dont get or you out right ignore, Chad does not walk around at 175, he has to come down to make 175, meaning he has to cut an additional 7 pounds.

That 15 pound limit they put in place that helped Ward here big time.... The mother ****er was drained, I picked ward to win here for this reason...

Whenever Dawson has been troubled in a fight it's been by punches he hasn't seen coming. It was Ward's accuracy with consecutive punches that put Chad down, it wasn't necessarily the power. Harding dropped Dawson with a sneaky jab, Johnson threw some unorthodox shots that hurt Dawson... these guys aren't big punchers either.
Dawson was looking great until Ward found his range and rhythm. Ward breaks guys down and takes away their drive. Dawson can be discouraged and Ward is the number one guy at discouraging his opponents.
The fight goes exactly the same at 175.

Ward systematically breaking Dawson down, was all there to see. The same would have happen at 175, yes, but Dawson wouldn't have been as easily crumbled. He would have at least made it to the end.

And whilst those guys aren't big punchers, they do however, coupled with their aggressiveness, present a more dangerous prospect of hurting you (well, Johnson does, anyway). Same thing with Pacal -- who's bigger and a much harder banger than Ward -- and yet Dawson wasn't put down once by him. He was being hit by shots he didn't see coming in that fight, too. Last night he was not only being outboxed, but he was being wrestled/bullied, too. <--- Being in his own comfortable weight division, would have made things easier for him on them occasions.

I thought that Dawson looked stronger and better than Ward in the first two rounds, he was outwrestling Ward and outboxing Ward. I think we under rate Ward's power, he's not as concussive as Pascal is but he also doesn't telegraph his shots like Pascal does and doesn't throw wild one and done punches like Pascal does. Ward is accurate and throws combinations, he is a more dangerous opponent than someone like Pascal is imo. I believe Ward noticeably troubled Froch with some left hooks in their fight as well.

Dawson took those KD's you mentioned as if they didn't happen. Not the case against Ward, a smaller less powerful SMW.

Ward has no power and knocked down a guy who has taken LHW punches without a problem 3 times while having his legs wobbly throughout the entire thing. He looked as though he couldn't recover from the first time he got floored. It was zombie like. It's clear his punch resistance was gone at this weight. All the bums Ward has faced in the past took his weak ass punches better than Dawson who isn't exactly known for having glass. Something sketchy there.

Ward works on different things in each fight. He's said himself that he's started to work on his power more. Power isn't something you're born with or not, contrary to popular opinion in boxing circles. It can be improved and I believe that's what Ward has done.

naw I'll say this. Dawson did look goof for 2 rounds. I thought he was even stronger than Ward and was pushing him against the ropes and getting the better of the clinches. But his legs never recovered after the knockdown and he did seem very drained out there. I posted this last night

Dawson looked bad in this fight, but he still had enough of his legs to retreat quickly and avoid Pascals follow up shots even when he's hurt. And he had more on his punches too

No way is Ward a more dangerous opponent than Pascal when it comes to hurting you and putting you on your ass. He's a sublime boxer and inside fighter that lands sneaky punches you don't expect, but he's not one to put your lights out with them like a Manny Pacquiao would.

Also, Pascal is not a one-punch-and-done type fighter. Sure, he fights in bursts and tires easily, but when he has you hurt he'll pounce on you like a dog. He's much more aggressive/dangerous than Ward in those scenarios. His heavy hands are also complimented with speed. He's pretty explosive, and he hurt Dawson with plenty of shots he didn't see:

It's also worthy mentioning that he was the first person in a looooooong time to have Hopkins wobbling around and on his butt in his two fights with him.

And in regards to Dawson looking good in the first two rounds, well, he looked normal/ok. Nothing great. Ward's a slow starter and was just getting in swing of things. Not much even happened in those two rounds. Well, not enough to suggest he was in normal, prime condition.
